  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Has anyone here had it? Or known anyone who has? My issue is bad anxiety, so I'm a not a candidate. Many years ago my maternal grandfather had it. It messed up his memory but did nothing for his extreme depression. They were going to do it to my mother until they found out she had a blocked carotid artery. The current could had sent the blockage to her brain and killed her.

Oh, shit. Yeah, ECT is great. For about 72 hours or so, your negative emotions are pretty much gone. The problem is that you can't really do it and "have a life" at the same time. They don't want you driving afterwards, so you can't really work or go out on the days you do it. Not to mention that it really messes with your short term memory.

However, if you're in a position where you don't have to work and don't have to be concerned about forgetting things, it's awesome.

I had treatment 8 today. I think it's finally starting to work. Until today I was always on the suicide discussion part of this site. Don't hold me to it I still have thoughts I could go back at any time but idk… I think maybe… just maybe it's starting to work but note I have partial epilepsy and my seizures have gotten worse so they also had to raise my antiepileptics today as well

I was thinking about doing it too. This is informative and I hope it works out for you!

I had 3 courses done across 3 years. It worked amazingly but it always wore off completely within 6 months and I would have a full relapse. No memory loss or other side effects, but it was very time consuming, expensive, and hard on the body so it I no longer feel it's worth the investment for me to keep getting it done. I do recommend that people give it a try as a last resort if they are suicidal and have already tried meds, therapy, TMS etc. For some people, it doesn't wear off and they get to live happy, normal lives afterwards without ever doing it again.
