I'm looking for advice on drowning. I had a couple ideas including jumping off a cruise ship and also using alcohol to aid in the process. My questions include how long can a person swim or stay afloat before losing energy and sinking? In addition what types of alcohol can help ease the drowning process? I live in San Diego California and I am able to swim so drowning might be hard but are there any people who might be able to give some insight on how long it takes to drown, how painful it is and what can aid in the process?

Don't drown, there are better ways to die.

I remember seeing someone on here who decided to ctb and their plan was to go out to a beach with a backpack around their head and huff deodorant spray as he submerged the back pack in the water . Giving that quick moment of passing out where they would drown .

I remember seeing that was his last post but I doubt I could find it .

I'm not sure how effective drowning is but i feel a cruise ship isn't the best place. If someone see's you, they may call for help and you'll be saved. Atleast make sure no one see's you, and tie something heavy to yourself so you don't float.

Like makuro said, there are better ways to die, but if you want to do drowning then go for it.

drowning is a very slow, stressful and unpleasant experience. even if you can ensure your death, in your final moments you will have wished you chose a better method. i recommend you bide your time and further your research. SI is your enemy, unfortunately

Drowning really really sucks and is painful. Drowning in salt water is even more painful. I'd find a different method.
