Creative to say the least, but i wouldn't risk it.
Nebulizer's liquid is not just water with table salt, from what i understand.
I know it's not an answer, i'm just sending this thread on top of the threads list

Try searching something similar on the internet. Like tutorials on how to make a diy solution eccetera.
Because i don't know how aerosol works but maybe the Salt molecule is too big/won't work.
You could try to nebulize water with normal salt and see if the salt remains in the plastic contenitor

A very creative method. I am just wondering what would happen if you vomit with the mask on.

I don't believe the nebulizer will create a "sodium nitrite vapor" like you're thinking. If Sodium Nitrite is anything at all like other salts, then the only thing the nebulizer will do is create water vapor. You'd be inhaling pure water. It doesn't evaporate like essential oils which "rise up" with the water vapor. Instead, the sodium nitrite will simply stay inside the water tank and turn into concentrated gunk.

With SN the rate of intake is also important, it needs to basically flood your system at once. I've not used a nebulizer before but I suppose it wouldn't instantly vaporize entire solution? Or you wouldn't inhale all the vapour at once?

Besides, I believe the salt would be mildly corrosive, probably enough to cause lung/breathing tube discomfort -- remember that people w ulcers are unable to drink SN without severe pain. Interesting idea though.

Not instant, it takes 10-20 minutes to nebulized a vial of 2,5mg/2,5ml liquid combivent, I used to treat my mother's asthma with this. But I guess there is other type jet-nebulizer for bigger dose.

It's common to nebulize saline solution (pure salt) to clear lung.
I haven't heard about SN contradiction with ulcer, will look up.

120mg/4ml solution of Sodium Nitrate inhalation is safe dose, according to Springer journal above
