Does SN cause air hunger?

I keep reading conflicting reports. I'm willing to experience some level of suffering, but what I'm really afraid of is experiencing air hunger/desperately needing to breathe. I've experienced that with different past attempts and it's horrific. What's the general consensus on this?

I have talked to 3 people who survived SN attempt, and they all said that they felt very little to no air hunger during the ordeal.

i'm worried about the same exact thing.

from what i've seen and dug up, it seems hit or miss. apparently some posters who posted updates said things like "i can't breathe"/other similar, jarring things.

i've probably found 5ish videos and haven't seen anything that looks like suffocation, but i have seen some intense restlessness, repeated vomiting, some gruesome shit. some deaths looked relatively peaceful, though. i'd be happy to hear what people with more experience think.

Yeah, I don't really care how I look during the process since I don't intend for anyone to watch, the subjective experience is all that matters to me. But I guess we can't know what it was like for those people.
Vomiting in and of itself doesn't bother me much because I have an undiagnosed colon issue that's caused a lot of it and so I'm almost used to it.

The mechanism of air hunger (to my understanding) is the buildup and concentration of CO2 in the blood. Exhaling solves this hunger. Our body doesn't actually know if there is enough oxygen in our system beyond "CO2 low? then we are air-satisfied"

This is a part why carbon monoxide poisoning is dangerous, it replaces the oxygen in your blood and since it's not carbon dioxide, you don't panic and suffocate, you just pass out.

SN works similarly but in summary, oxygen gone, CO2 gone (important), peaceful pass-out.

Drowning/suffocation? oxygen gone, CO2 builds up rapidly in system, panic.

Ok, but did they survive because they took way less than a "normal" dose?

2 of them were found and they lost consciousness quickly. The third case took too little SN, it took him long time to lose consciousness. He felt a bit air hunger before passing out. He was found too.
