  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

It can, yes. There are treatment resistant mental illnesses that make it more difficult. It certainly can't fix everything. But it can help. Medication can help. None of this means that it will but it absolutely can. It's not a magical cure all, it takes time and effort and will.

It helps those in power control and predict your behaviour, which is why it was invented and is what its only been about ever. Everything else is a sales pitch to get you into the door.

I'm hesitant to say it doesn't work so I will just say it didn't work for me.

Unfortunately it has worked for me. I still want to ctb though. My doc specializes in everything it seems like so she's well versed in many things & our convos are fluid.

She uses analogies & metaphors which helps put things in perspective & shows me what i need to do for me & only me & that's when the therapy aspect gets uncomfortable.

& by the end of the 1 hr. session she'll send the rX script to the pharmacy.

The fact that she's a psych & a therapist keeps her in high demand so her appointments are months out

Moncrieff
Moncrieff is a legend. Lots of banger psych's in the UK. I guess it has to do with the NHS and how the entire society pays for psychiatrist failures but I'm speculating.

After Dr. Mosher created Soteria House, and actually got people off meds within months (some were even cured), they pulled all his funding and literally ran him out of town. He finished his career at the Dept of Health in a county near DC. So, no, they don't want your problems fixed, they want to milk you forever. Dr. Mosher had integrity, something seriously lacking in the modern day.

That's the cynical view and I wouldn't discount it entirely. It hasn't worked for me. But it seems to have worked reasonably well for a brother and a niece. So I don't know.

Yeah, she opened my eyes. Unfortunately, many [vulnerable people] are taken involuntary to psychiatry, and then it's a rabbit hole from there. So that also maintains the market demand. But it's mostly corruption/unethical psychiatry and pharmacy establishment trying to maintain themselves in power and money getting.

So you see, even if ethical healthcare professionals try to come up with actually healthy and effective interventions the establishment will shut you down. This is very sad. Also because this is the only realistic way I see of getting psychiatry out of business in this socioeconomic system we live in (market economy).
