Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

i accidentally used the phrase ctb with a friend of mine. Instead of dropping it he pushed to know what it meant. I just changed the subject. Has anyone else fucked up and said slang around people who are 'normal'?

No. When I am out and about in my real life, dark topics like this don't usually occur to me. If they do occur to me, they are little more than passing intrusive thoughts.
I "joke" about dying and killing myself so much, my friends don't even blink an eye. But I never use ss terms like ctb. Also, be very careful about sharing exactly how much you know about things like SN, N, F - things that are specifically for suicide. That's usually the point where people start worrying. (Of course, they think it's funny when I tell them most days I say fuck when I wake up because I wish I died in my sleep...)

Not really. No one knows the whole story, but a few people know I've flirted with the idea of suicide. If I even jokingly said "Well, I didn't die in my sleep, so I'm still unhappy" then they'd immediately make some calls and I'd probably end up in a hospital, which I will literally do anything to avoid.

No, except to one friend who knows how much I struggle. I wouldn't use SS terms with any of my other friends though, it would be a tough conversation to have, and I'm not trying to be "saved".
I do not use such slang offline or online. However, there are several in my circle of acquaintances who regularly joke about death and dying - within the bounds of that sort of atmosphere, it is not a red flag. I join in on occasion. I wonder how many of them mean it the way I do.
To be honest I am still learning the slang since I'm new here. I definitely had to google CTB since it was everywhere on the site and I had never seen the acronym before.
No, but I talk about suicide quite openly with one person. When it comes to anyone else, I try to avoid the topic, unless my audience can tolerate some messed up humor. I suppose it's hard to hide something so well forever, it kind of slips out at times. But so far everyone laughs, and I never got caught.
Funny how people relate enough to laugh, but deny the possibility of the act so vigorously.
I don't talk to people about suicide, except to one friend whom knew what it meant by context. Anyways I joke a lot about death and laugh nervously a lot. My acquaintances say they feel the same and relate. but just that they function unlike me. Nobody would believe/take me seriously, nobody would think it will actually happen. I don't think we should use these acronyms too much outside, safety reasons
I once called someone else pro-life but not to their face. The people I was with were confused because the person I was talking about never once mentioned they were against abortion in any way. I had to attempt to save face by saying "Well maybe they COULD be!"

I don't even care anymore about hiding it. My whatsapp status is the "man running" emoji followed by the bus emoji lol. I set it a month back or so. No one has caught up yet though.
Everyone knows me as the knowledgeable one, so I can usually* get away with joking about methods and terminologies without anyone batting an eye. Someone even said they make N for me after I told them what it was haha. It also helps that my circle has a bunch of memers, too.
*Though, there was a point where I was absolutely dejected and joked about ctb a little too much. I was met with concern, so I stopped for a while to lower suspicions.
My best friends know about this forum and these abbreviations. One of them feels too sad when I talk about this topic so I stopped telling him details.
But my other friends are pro-choice themselves and are in favor of this forum. I talk a lot about it. They hated the media coverage and understand how helpful this forum is for me.
Though I talked to another (more distant) friend of mine. I did not mention the name of SS. But she judged me for being in such a forum. She thought especially people with mental illness should not have the right to die in most cases. I was really surprised about this stance from her. I defended the forum but we did not really found a compromise.
