Phrases like these get thrown about all the time. People prescribe therapy as though it were some sort of magic trick that can undo whatever unfavorable circumstances we find ourselves in. They often forget that therapists are also doctors on a payroll, and are subject to the same flaws and fallacies as any other human being. The callousness and insensitivity of such comments makes 'help' come across as derisive and condescending, and their writers seem like self-righteous, conceited bigots.
