Discussion Do you think the Nazis would have killed you (if they could)?

Me very likely yes if they could. I wonder how my crazy bipolar grandmother survived I live in Germany.

I currently listen to scientifical articles on Auschwitz. They would have likely put me in such a concentration camp because I am nuts and anti-social. I cannot work and only waste resources.

I would have been on thin ice with the Nazis because I have bipolar disorder. I was always seen as intelligent and I worked in a highly technical profession so they likely would have classified me as useful to society as long as I could hold down a job. Whether I'd be able to work is questionable, since in my current state of severe depression I barely get out of bed.

There's a good chance I'd kill myself rather than face the horrible conditions of the concentration camps.

Being from the UK I'd be on the wrong side from their point of view so yes. I'm also bi, and have mental health issues. I masked both most of my life. Think they'd have seen me as useful so long as I kept my issues well enough hidden as they were short on workers during the war. After the war I'd be on borrowed time.

Just in terms of my personality though, if I was German, who knows? I can work- they'd likely try to get me to work. Whether I'd comply or not, I'm not sure. Hopefully not, if I'd figured out what they were up to. It's almost impossible to say what we'd do in a way. I think there's always this hope we'd do the right thing but, fear is so powerful.

I suspect I would have helped the war effort in the UK though. Not direct fighting but I probably would have been willing to work in the factories. Especially if our cities were being bombed.

Still, we all likely wouldn't get much choice- whichever side we were on. Or rather, the consequences of not complying I imagine would be unpleasant.

The thing with Nazi is not that the Nazis were nutjobs or evil, the thing is that everybody else gets a free pass because, well, they fought nazis. Or because they aint nazis. If Hitler hadnt existed, it had to be invented. Perfect aberration that saves everyobody else from their own uncertainties.

To.answer the question, eventually, in a logical or simmetrical world, the Nazis would have cannibalised themselves until only one so-called perfect blue eyed nazi would have remained. In this real world, a Axis victory in ww2 would have meant just another cold war between Japan and Germany , with some more ideological drama than the one that existed. And probably ending in a atomic war, because, well, Nazis were nutjobs, after all.
