Do you mainly listen to songs about suicide, depression, etc.? Most of the music in my music library I won't play outloud around others because almost everything is about suicide or depression. Does anyone else do this as well?

I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd, and you know how some of their songs are. The three I listen to the most are "Wearing the inside out", "Poles Apart", and "Comfortably Numb".....
Then there's Ozzy's Suicide Solution, AC/DC's Highway to Hell, and a few others.

Yes, my youtube music recommendations is full of dsbm and some other John Frusciante's stuff (even though he doesn't talk about suicide specially).
I wonder how would be the reaction of someone normal listening to what I usually listen.

I honestly only know one song that's really about suicide (Other Side by Orden Ogan) but then again the genres i'm into (power metal and retrowave) are generally not depressing
I do love the song that i've mentioned though, but i've listened to it for 8 hours straight before paying attention to the lyrics, the music and tone are just too perfect. Discovering what it's about was quite surprising
Since I was a kid I listend to music that had some kind of meaning to me and because I grew up with depression and anxiety, I tended to songs about cutting, suicide and depression. I still listen to this sort of music till this day :D
I actually don't pay much attention to the lyrics of songs the first time I hear them, but when I hear a melody or tune that I like and I replay the song and search up the lyrics, I realise that a fair bit of them are about life and quite depressing. I wanted to share a song (Unstable by Krizz Kaliko) with someone who likes hip hop too but then I realised it was about suicide and I couldn't share it in the end.

I listen mostly to a band that talks about suicide and other dangerous shit like overdosing a lot, the reason the band is here is because they set themselves like "If our shit blows up and we manage to live off of it, we good. If not we kill ourselves"

I've been dying all along
let me go where i belong
Get me drunk, bitch, get me high
Give me pills and let me vibe
When it's time just let me die
I'm so tired of this life.
Yeah pretty much all I listen to is shit about suicide and misery
Absolutely. I love to hear about others being miserable. All that xxxtentacion and emo soundcloud rap, I love it. Its all just yelling 'i want to die' for 3 minutes straight and I live for it.
I listen to whatever music I feel like listening to, and don't have a specific set of genres. I will say that since I'm autistic, the same music that others find sad might not have the same effect to me. In other words, since I live on the spectrum and see things differently, I take different interpretations of different kinds of music. Sometimes I feel like I would easily override survival instinct with inspirational music and being in a state of mind of readiness with a dose of idgaf attitude.
