Because I think it's absolutely bullshit. If anything this website has saved my life and helped me more than anything. I have made tons of friends received all sorts of support. Have been accepted for how I feel instead of being made feel like an an ot a freak.. The fact I am able to talk about how I feel openly without feeling like I am less than a human has helped me tremendously. The fact I can relate to people and receive support and compassion..


I would like fixthe26 to provide ONE example of someone being bullied for not committing suicide.

Let's provide an example of bullying. A. Calling people Psycho. B. I have seen them being transphobic in the past. Trying Trying make innocent people feel bad for bei g here when for some this is our only source of support without being judged. C. Doxxing innocent people and making sick jokes about them. I would post more tweets but I have been blocked by them so I can't access then now. There are tons of other examples.
If people come on here bullying they get banned REAL quick.

I think that many pro lifers are delusional thinking that someone respecting the right to die means 'encouraging suicide', when in fact it is perfectly clear that it is the individuals decision to leave this world, no one is encouraged, suicide is seen as a personal choice and if someone chooses to live or die, their decision is respected either way. So do they want to force people to live against their wishes. That is cruel. The right to die is a human right and no one has any obligation to live. I think that to me pro life is really just pro suffering.

This website is the first place in my whole life (45 years) that I can be completely honest and genuinely myself. The support has been incredible and for me, this community has inspired me and provided acceptance. I've been inpatient (not in a long time at least), have tried tons of antidepressants, gone to plenty of therapists, stayed in outpatient treatment with 1 psychiatrist for years and this site is better than all of that!

The group you referenced here have it all wrong. This site does not encourage suicide one bit. Not once has anyone "instructed" me and if anything, the prevailing posts are wishes for peace. I'm sorry for their personal losses but blaming this site or others like it is just easier than looking at the real causes of hopelessness and suicide.

There really are a bunch of ass hats around this forum but that applies everywhere. It's not true that people are bullied into committing either through obvious bullying, peer pressure or persuasive encouragement. We know this and I'm certain Kelli does too. I'm sorry for her or anyone who loses a child in whatever way. She didn't lose her child to suicide. She lost him to depression. That said, she's entitled to believe that if it makes her feel a little better however it's really not healthy and at some point the desire for truth must override the need to hide from it. People that want to bully others into suicide don't go to a suicide websites to do it. There's a lot of bitterness in Kelli and she should know better than to use Pride Day to push her agenda and propaganda. She's made it clear she's happy to screenshot the forum so if making claims like this she needs to back them up with a source/proof otherwise she's just joined or insited a flame war. If that.

Pride Day is a day of celebration in how far we're coming as an all accepting humanity. Whether you're someone who aligns with LGBTQ, are Straight but in agreement, On the fence or Against. Then this is a day where that can be discussed and any heavy discussions under the banner. Not using it to piggyback your own agendas. It's rude and disrespectful. Not to say poorly executed. Her action indicate an all about me attitude and are actually quite negating of LGBTQ and it's day of celebration. Also you can't say this is the "hard truth..... maybe.....". I suspect she knows this to be the case in her mind. Its a certain mentality of selective belief and its very dangerous. She'll have regrets one day because we have to face ourselve when it comes. Getting this website shut down just means that more people don't have a place where they can connect and relate to others. Which is probably going to cause more suicide. The few instances I've seen on SS of users either encouraging or belittling someone else for not committing suicide was dealt with in some way.
But if you still don't want to live after so much treatment recommended by suicide prevention services, suddenly you're viewed as inhuman. Threatening to lock you in a psych ward indefinitely, accusing you of not trying hard enough, viewing you as incapable of rational thought, acting as if there is something fundamentally wrong with you, etc. It's disgusting.

I also read many articles including the NYT condemning this specific website and plan to take it down. Yet, they all seem to twist everything to serve their one-sided narrative. I can see how accessible CTB resources with clear instructions can be harmful to people like teenagers with symptoms of impulsivity or people that haven't given treatments a try etc.

But they also ignore the fact that most people on here have exhausted their means and thus have made a rational decision to kill themselves. They deserve to have their decision respected. Moreover, there are also so many people on here who have benefitted from the provided network of support that they lack in their lives. This place is part of the reason I'm still here. I've made friends. I've had time to reflect on how (hanging myself in my parents garage) would really traumatize them. I know me leaving is going to traumatize them regardless.. but idk. I've learned a lot from being here. I have also made friends/acquaintances. People who when I show up are always seem excited to see you, do not bully you into killing yourself ever, and if anything the ones I speak to don't even like to hear you say you're gonna leave.

I feel that society tends to have an obsession with "saving people" but it never looks at the cause of to try and tackle the cause. So if you really want to help people, they should be tackling the things that make me want to CTB.
