Yes ! This is one of my hobbies. I draw skulls, knives, corpses, entrails, coffins, funeral processions, blood, graveyards, crypts, the scenes of me being dead in different situations (drowning, asphyxiation e.t.c.) Some of my friends who play in a Death Metal band were really impressed with my art (they don't know about my intentions, thinking i am normal) and asked me to draw them some sort of rotten stuff. So i did it and now they are fond of it) I feel pretty uncomfortable cause they dont know i am mentally ill and being serious.

UPD : ok, if you feel strong enough, i can share some example with you : https://www.dropbox.com/s/h91lzr55k5yz0cx/Infested_With_Worms.jpg?dl=0

I'm simply incompetent at any artistic endeavor. I don't even bother to try.

Love your paintings, Angst.

I don't draw or paint, but I mess around a lot in photoshop and create things in my spare time.

Aside from my forum signatures. I made this today. If anyone would like a forum signature, I will make one for them too.

I like using Unity3D for a bit of creative distraction. The newest version allows you to create 3D objects and worlds from within the editor just by manipulating 3D shapes, haven't tried it yet though.

So I do digital art using a tablet. These are drawn, from scratch on a white canvas from real life photographs.

This is the shit I love, I was considering trying some wet on wet or gouache the same way Ghibli creates their backgrounds. Seeing people paint like this looks so simple yet they're still stunning. but then I consider what materials I would need and the practice it would take to get any good and I get really disheartened.

Anyway I picked up drawing recently so when I don't feel like doing anything, I can fill a few pages of a sketchbook and see a slow and slight but real gradual improvement. It's so hard to keep it up though.

Yes, until I became disabled, I drew photorealism, where you draw a picture so it looks like a photograph, meaning it is supposed to fool the eye to look like it is not a drawing but a photo. I will post some if I can figure out how and find my WIP pics. I also paint semi-realistic watercolors, mostly animals for my son's room--but like this better when I have no time b/c photorealism takes a minimum of 800hrs for a small drawing, vs. I can do the watercolor in a few hours or a day or so. Plus, I never transitioned from b&w to colored pencils for the photorealism (b/c it is so much harder and I was still skill-building, and good colored pencils can be $200-$500 for a large set). So the watercolors allowed me to learn color w/o much time or money commitment.

Here are 2 examples of some photorealism from 10 years ago--my first work--and then some of the watercolors. I am sorry that the pics are terrible, but I am so incredibly lazy that I did not feel like going upstairs to another computer that has professional-grade photography of my work that I took, so I just grabbed my camera and snapped some pics to post. The lighting is terrible, pics are blurry, and no detail is rendering, but you get the gist.

Edit: to switch a picture, but then I butchered the arrangement in the thread--sorry!

even monochrome work can look amazing, I'm in a facebook group for black and white artwork only and I heard a rumour that the creator is colorblind. Sorry that happened to you though

Yeah they usually test for this stuff in kindergarden but apparently I tricked the care givers by memorizing what different colors looked like you know like the grass is green and when they asked me I would remember that. I thought it was important to get this test right so I tried really hard to "win" the test not knowing they were just trying to figure out if I was colorblind haha.

I actually remember this test the only reason I know they tried to test me for being colorblind is because my parents told me that the care givers had a hard time figuring it out because I was tricking them by memorizing colors from objects and things haha.
