This is my dog, he's my best friend. He's the baby that I got when I was an 18 y/o 'baby' myself and we've grown up together. He's my sole reason to live at this point, as I have such a hard time thinking of him not understanding where I went. I also worry about who his next guardian will be and if they'll treat him right. He's a sweet little bed hog and loves to be close, and in the same breath is absolutely feral and loves to roam through the desert and do zoomies.

I have a dog who I adore.

I want a rabbit one day, one that I can keep in my house. I would love a Belgian Hare.

I had a guinea pig. Which honestly- I hadn't asked for. I think it was to teach me responsibility- mucking out and feeding etc. I inherited a few fish in an outside pond from the previous owners.

I don't have any pets now. Which I think is kinder on them. The environment wouldn't be great for them plus- I'm so lazy now. I barely look after myself. I'd hope that wouldn't spread to me neglecting them but, I wouldn't want to risk it. Plus, with suicide on the cards, it seems better to not form anymore tethers. I do love animals though. I watch loads of pet videos to get a virtual fix.

By choice, I'd likely go for a more obscure animal like an octopus. I love puffer fish too. I think a micro pig would be cute.

I only had a pet when I was a child, and it was a parrot like the one in the photo, and the parrot talked a lot, lol.

I used to have a dog and a cat when living with my parents:] the dog was my please-dont-kill-yourself pet but still stayed with them when I got out cause then he suddenly became a family pet 🫩

when I was little I also had a hamster, two rabbits and a guinea pig, but don't have pics of them Screenshot 2025 12 29 16 20 09 668 commiuigallery edit Screenshot 2025 12 29 16 21 37 479 commiuigallery edit

Currently down to 2 dogs. Never had less than 2 for the last 40 years. One is a rescue from a reserve - was picked up as a pup, alone and eating rocks. Now, she has her own bed (along with mine), has a doggy door so she can go outside when she wants, and goes on pack walks daily so she can see more than just our property. The other is a little princess who sleeps between my wife and I every night.

The worst thing about having dogs/pets is they are going to pass-on sooner than us. Because of the number of pets my wife and I have had, our library seems more like a mausoleum with urns, collars, and paw prints. We even have my wife's and daughter's horses cremated and hanging out with us. I fully believe that I will see all of them when I die.

Adopted 2 cats a few months ago, they're the first cats I've ever owned but one has been spraying and urinating around the house and was diagnosed with stress-induced cystitis (FIC). I enjoy their company a lot but it's been a bit of a crash course in cat behaviour (not to mention the vet bills).

I was meant to have a pet, in fact, it was my only protective factor. I was so close to getting one, I already put the deposit for her. However, the breeder decided to cancel on her behalf... I became so heartbroken, it's as if I've lost everything in life. I've lost my only hope, my only potential source of love, and it's been hard accepting the fact that she could have been mine, but she's now with someone else.

When I was younger, we had a dog. It was a white dog breed. If I ever get a pet in the future though, it would probably be a cat.
