My grandmother died. we were close once but I am in university so we were not close at the time when she died. I don't feel anything about it. I feel like a terrible person for not feeling sad about her death. I feel so guilty about not feeling anything but i don't know what I can do about it. Has anyone else struggled with not feeling sad, or really anything at all, after the death of a relative?

i'm the same way, i didnt feel anything upon getting the news, however i'll have moments from time to time where i miss them. i dont remember where, but ive heard that its common for autistic people (which i am one) to react to losing people in that way

I wouldn't discount that you "don't feel anything" so early. In fact, not feeling anything is a named step in the stages of grief: denial (even if it isn't conscious). Maybe you just haven't felt the effects of her absence, yet.

But even in the event that your grief is simply not there, that's OK, too.

Personally, while I felt a lot of grief on the day of my grandmother's death (I feel it's important to mention I saw her body as well), afterwards was pretty much smooth sailing. I didn't miss her, and I don't really miss her now. Not because I didn't like her or anything, but she was about that age anyway, it was just her time. She had a good and long life, so what was there to be sad about? Perhaps that's what you're experiencing, perhaps not, but there's no wrong way to feel about it.
