Discussion Do you feel that your dreams are an alternative world?

Sometimes when I dream I feel that's where I really belong. I have thoughts on what if I dedicated my life to being asleep most of the time? When I dream, I see people kind and happy. I even dream of myself playing a video game normally except without the computer monitor, table, mouse, etc. I only see the actual video game and sounds. I get really disappointed and sad when I wake up even if I have weird dreams. I can not recall specific weird dreams but they usually involve random stuff that feels normal until I recall it.

Honestly kinda. Sometimes I have dreams where everything in my life is solved, other times I'm someone completely different with a different set of memories.

Absolutely. But what irks me is that it seems as though those alternate lives aren't much different than this one.

Which makes me think, damn am I a loser in other realities, too? Am I still in this city, with this same family?

Most of my dreams have some arcing adventure. In all of them, I have some sense of purpose. I think thats why I like them so much

Dreams feel better than real life. Everything feels perfect in them, like I'm just hanging out or going somewhere with people. They also say if you see someone you know in a dream, that means they were thinking of you. Sometimes I wonder if that's actually true, cause I'll see people I haven't thought of or spoken to in years appear in my dream.

Sort of ig. I think there are aspects of reality most humans haven't seen yet (including myself). We've just recently found out that lucid dreaming isn't semi conscious, it's fully conscious. Then you hear stories about people having amplified senses, being able to see dead relatives, etc. And even if all that is our heads, if we mastered it, we'd be able to a lot of things, it would be like Inception

Not really. My dreams tend to be a reflection of what is currently bothering me at the moment. I can't recall the last time I woke up from a "great dream" or even a "good dream". The only time I enjoyed what "may" be considered dreaming is while on Ketamine during a treatment attempt.
