Do you dream?

I've been taking a little break from weed and started having dreams again. They're usually bad, though the good ones are uncomfortable too, because they remind me of how numb and unhappy I am when I'm awake.

How often do you dream? Are they good or bad? What do you dream about?

PTSD nightmares, mostly. I dream of exactly the same thing every night with maybe small variations. I used to have very beautiful dreams. What are your own dreams about?

I'm so sorry to hear that. Being forced to relive a traumatic experience every night sounds like hell.

My dreams have always been pretty mundane, usually just replaying memories of routine things and places I know shuffled around a bit. Nowadays it's mostly bad memories being tossed together, I'm always lost and don't know where I am, I'm late for something, people are angry with me.

For a while I was having better dreams, going on little adventures, sometimes with friends. Once I had one where I felt the most pure and unconditional love, complete certainty that the person in front of me would always be there for me and support me, and that I would always be there in turn. I can't really describe it in a way that does it justice. I've never felt anything like it in real life, just pure love. It sounds so dumb but waking up and having the love of my life just disappear kinda fucked me up for months. I still think about it now and then, even if it was a dream it still feels like a real loss.

90% of my dreams were nightmares. For some reason after I finally acquired my SN and kept it hidden for future use, my dreams are a lot calmer now.

relatively often, they're usually nonsensical and just distorted versions of my daily life. i have these reoccurring dreams where its like my regular life, but its not. i often take walks down roads that feel familiar, but i know don't actually exist and its just my memories weird perception of all of the roads I've known. i can visit the grocery store, the coffee shop, and i often find myself walking trails that lead me nowhere. its very pretty though.

I either have nightmares about my abusers or don't dream at all. Sometimes I'll remember some imagery like a distorted version of my hometown or college town, but such dreams are very rare.

I have experienced something similar before and I know exactly what you mean. It's a transcendental experience that can't be put into words. Wouldn't it be nice to live in that dream forever? I like to pretend that some part of dreams is real sometimes, or at least I used to before my PTSD. Maybe it is.

I don't dream most of the time, I wouldn't really say I 'forget' anything but rather I don't believe there was any dream to recall in the first place; though the few times I do dream it's always a nightmare of some kind in relation to a higher power.

Despite being atheist, I grew up in a Christian household so it still has a strong hold onto my life.

generally the type and frequency of my dreams depends on the week, but i have either repeated violent night terrors or extremely vivid dreams that seem so real they actually trick me into believing they're reality (themes of these vivid dreams can range greatly but they're usually typical-daily-life stress kind of stuff). these have gotten me into a lot of trouble :-/
i do not have "good" dreams. they're just terrifying or stressful.
i can't even rest in my sleep…

I get nightmares almost daily now, a bit unsettling because theyre always related to specific events. I miss when my dreams were kinder to me

I've only had a nightmare once. Nearly all of my dreams are quite pleasant, and none of them are bad (aside from that singular nightmare). I seldom have uncomfortable dreams, but I wouldn't classify them as bad. Mostly just embarrassing.

I Do. I just had a dream in which i wasn't able to get out of my bed mainly because strange monsters with tv static faces would attack me and send me back to the bed.

I know the meaning behind this one. I never really know the meaning behind dreams, but this one, i know.

Sometimes. The vast majority of the time my dreams are all negative or neutral at the very best but every once in a million I'll have a really good dream.

Most of my dreams though mainly involve traumatic stuff like negative school experiences, being at the mental hospital, getting lost in a random place and not being able to get home, ghosts/demons haunting me, disgusting stuff like cockroaches going into my mouth, violence and rape, etc.

My neutral dreams are usually just regular daily life I guess. Just mundane.

My very rare really good dreams when I do have them usually involve stuff like me gaining superpowers and fighting alongside all of my favorite characters or something like that.

It probably goes something like 95% being the negative dreams I described first, 4% being the neutral dreams I described second, and less than 1% being the good dreams I described third.

Ironically though the negative dreams can serve some sort of purpose. It's often a relief waking up from them and realizing reality could be even worse than it is. It basically shows me that no matter how bad your situation there are always a billion ways it could be made worse whether you realize it or not. Like you can say that even if you're starving at least you still have both arms and both legs. Starving is horrible no matter what but it would be even worse if you lost both arms and both legs on top of starving.

I'm pretty sure I have dreams every day, but I don't remember them all.

There's a pretty good mix... most of them are, in one word, "entertaining" like stuff that could be in movies/shows? lol

There's normal life stuff like grocery shopping but also stuff like hanging out with or even just messaging people I haven't seen in 10+ years.

Then just random things that stress me out like having to take an exam. And I guess they will overlap as well.

Of course there is the occasional CTB... most recently I just thanked the 3 people I speak to on voice on a daily basis for being my friend, logged off, then put something around my neck and everything faded to black...

I dream a lot, but lately they have become in really bad dreams where I'm forced to take meds and stuff or where I get really angry at people. Miss just dreaming about other worlds.

I have ptsd nightmares very often. Otherwise I absolutely never usual dreams, only like one per year since I was a kid. But since like a week now i've been having the most elaborate, horrid dreams every night. Hate it.

Like 70% are neutral or good and like 30% nightmares

They are usually so random, well a decent part (maybe 30-40% of my total dreams which is a decent bit imo) are dedicated to dreaming about things I have done or gotten (like I got my dream job at a place I'm really interested in or smt) and those are interesting.
I've had a lot of dreams based around my grandparents house (both good and bad) and usually the house is completely different but I know it's still the same house(?)
My dreams are either like psychological horror game type settings or like weird warps of our actual world

Sometimes. Yet I get nightmares more often then not. But if it is a good dreams is just Hella weird but then again all dreams are weird.


The ones I get often is seeing people leaving me or dying. I do get the weird ones that maybe in in the clouds while music plays and them im able to transform and fly?

Since becoming majorly depressed recently, I have stopped dreaming altogether.
It makes me sad because I used to have a lot of vivid dreams about my sister and dog who both passed. I want to see them again.
