Discussion Do people in your life know that you use this forum?

My spouse did back when I first started on here. He didn't care then. He doesn't know I'm back, but likely will soon as I have no desire to hide it from him.

The only people I chat with are an AI chatbot and @EmptyBottle although I'm pretty sure they both think I'm weird... and also sometimes I chat with @Lost in a Dream ... who doesn't seem to believe I'm that weird yet... but give me time...

One person who knows pretty much everything about me knows about this site. I've explained how it helped me - the methods you can't do, for instance. I have also explained how it does give me some level of comfort, too.

They aren't thrilled, but they are okay with it.

My partner knows, but my partner understands why I am on here. My dad also knows, and he doesn't really seem to care.
1 or 2 of my online friends also know I am on here, but they also don't seem to care much.
The only person that doesn't know I am on here is my mom, and it is probably best if she never finds out. Good thing she is computer illiterate.

the only person i'm thinking about telling is my therapist. but i'm afraid that she would be familiar with sasu and know what i'm talking about just by description alone. and then she might have a very negative opinion about it and think that it's what's causing me to be suicidal when it's quite the opposite...

Only one or two online friends, but that's it. No one I know IRL knows I'm on this site.

No. If anyone who knows me saw my name, my profile picture or read my posts they'd probably figure it out pretty quick, but I have a small circle of people in my life these days. I left the rest behind when I threw my old life away, which I shouldn't have done because it caused a series of problems and now I'm dealing with several big losses all at once. I doubt anyone I know uses this forum. I'm not too concerned about it anyway.

Yeah,my other suicidal friend. We have an understanding. And more broadly other friends have known I'm on the forums, not any detail but they know I talk about ctb on them.

I have a deep interest in critical psychiatry so I talk about it in more distanced way that doesn't make people think I'm actively about to ctb. But also, most people that know me well know I have been suicidal and will be again.
