  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at admin@sanctioned-suicide.net.

(Context)
When I was 4 years old I got hit by my mother every day for an entire summer.
The only days I didn't get beaten were the weekends because my grandparents were home and she couldn't do it then.
(The nightmare)

Now, I have the same nightmare almost every week.
In the nightmare, I finish a puzzle and show it to my grandma. My grandma has to stand up from her bed and go to the puzzle to see it.
But when my grandma leaves for work my mom comes into the room and beats me for bothering my grandma.

When I wake up from that nightmare I cry for about an hour.
It's been happening for years now.
is this PTSD?

That is a question for a doctor.
The best answer you can get here is, maybe?.

Nonetheless, worst summer ever.

We can't tell you if you have PTSD or not. You need to see a psychiatrist or some other kind of professional and get a diagnosis.

I don't know about PTSD, but you've definitely been the victim of some terrible circumstances.I don't know why people like your mother, who are just vicious, have children.Having children is a pretty simple decision. If you're willing to cherish them, have them, else don't.

You say this dream has been happening for years. I think you'll need some type of counseling To come to terms with it. Certainly seems like you're unable to move on.

I'm not an expert on PTSD, but I think what you are describing could well be PTSD, or something like it.
If you want to dig deeper into this, you would have to talk to a professional.

I am so sorry that you had to go through that. From my layperson understanding tjat does sound like PTSD. If you are able I would try to get in contact with a family doctor or a councilor and tell them about it.

I'm so sorry you went through that. No matter the possible diagnosis, it would be worth it to talk to someone irl about what happened when you're ready. That sounds awful and I'm sorry you experienced that

ב''ה, you can look up the DSM criteria although that's pregaming it. You can look into the whole C-PTSD thing and although I may have grumbles with its society of origin, since they only love doing that they put a name to the constant stupid existential stress thing. Then the world got haunted even just with the Internet of Shit surveillance capitalism stuff where every sneeze will at least be an aura broadcast to everyone in the ads you attract, so whee.

As far as thinking about it practically, did you have an intensely norepinephrine based learning experience? Probably. Does it create 'intrusive thoughts?' Dreams are hard to avoid and maybe your sleep is shittier for that. Can they do anything? You can pay someone to nod and validate that someone was perhaps shitty at parenting (or to nod and validate just about anything else, or to make you feel shitty and broken about anything, choosing a 'provider' is a wild ride) if you can afford that, and maybe they can give you a sleeping pill if you want one, or whatever other brain candy they or you bring up, with all its side effects.

Then there's the EMDR option as appears to be half retraining some of the startle/flinch response (because other people don't like flinchy people when.. what, they're maybe going to do something abusive?) and half getting you to say you're cured so you can stop paying someone to almost poke you in the eye.

Realistic expectations are important, I'd say, but if you want the social excuse.. well, look at the criteria.

If you have to ask if it's PTSD, it's most likely PTSD. Also, as someone who has heavy PTSD, yes, this sounds like PTSD.

It sounds like PTSD at an industrial level.
This requires a real professional to tackle.
It is good to know HELL has plenty of room!
At least you do not need to buy a Mother's Day card.
