When contacting someone like dignitas you have to do a fair bit of paperwork and provide medical records. You'll probably need legal representation but I'm not certain.
It can move quickly when you apply but you have to pay some money upfront to get the initial assessment done. It can all happen within 6 months and I've read accounts of it happening significantly faster. I think it may have been as quickly as six weeks if I remember correctly. That was probably somebody with all their ducks in a row though.
If you have mental health issues and they're your reason for wanting to go then you're likely to have an uphill challenge there. Some countries and service providers are more inclined to accept those reasons but generally its not a reason that's accepted.Last edited:I think they only assist older people who are in pain because of an illness.
Yeah, I don't think age is as much of an issue as it is with Exit. They accept people under 50 but a terminal illness or untreatable condition is definitely a prerequisite for most if not all. Mental health issues on top would require some screening from their inhouse doctor/psychologist in order to write off the possibility that you're making a brash decision due to poor mental health. You can see this covered in a couple of the documentaries about assisted dying. Terry Pratchet did one and Louis Theroux did one. There are also some more independantly filmed short videos on the subject. They can be found on sites like Vimeo.com. YouTube used to have them but they went all mainstream politically correct money chase crazy.
Gone are the days of using the web without some algorithm attempting to feed you what you want to see/hear. Or what they think you should see/hear. :((

If you use the search function you will find tons of infos about all the VAD associations in Switzerland (Pegasos, Lifecircle, Ex International, Eternal Spirit, Exit) and the one association in Germany (sterbehilfe.de). I would recommend Pegasos or Lifecircle.
