Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I would like to ask, if anybody knows ,how frequently does hotel ask to pay additional deposit when you are checking in,which they will return once you checking out.
For instance, room for 1 night is 80e, and they ask you 160 when you arrive, and later give you back the another 80. Is it common practise, or can I call there to ask and it will not be very embarassing ?
I need to book it ASAP ,rooms are selling very fast, but worried whether they will ask me for the price written on the page or some additional security deposit stuff. Thank you

It's okay to call and ask what their policy is, this question is common, you will not draw unwanted attention to yourself.

Whenever I stay in a hotel, I have to call and ask this question because I have a very low limit on my credit card and have to bring cash sometimes.

Thank you, yes you are right, I will call there. I also have only cash, and no money on the credit card, wondering if I should put the money there ,otherwise why would they need CC details,if there s no money...I did asked them already in the past if I can pay with cash only, they said yes, but didnt say i need to have something on credit card. Anyway. thank you for replying :)
