As many people know, Darwin Awards were awards given to people (from 2000 to 2010) who accidentally kill themselves by doing something stupid, thus "improving the human gene pool". Some of these ideas would work for ctb. For example, some people have won Darwin Awards by capturing a rattlesnake in areas with a lot of them and then hold their jaws shut and trying to kiss them in front of their friends to show off- then they get bit and this does not end well. Another way is if a tree gets caught in a wood chipper and a person climbs into the wood chipper to kick the jam loose- this also does not end well. Climbing into a running wood chipper is possibly the most reliable method I have heard of- you have maybe 15 to 20 agonizing seconds and it's all over. I think I'd be too scared to do it- the noise of the machines must be terrifying- but it would be very fast and very certain.

Climbing into a wood chipper sounds like one of the worst methods. I think somebody would have to be really desperate to go through that. Nobody should have to resort to such a painful agonising death, we all deserve the option of a peaceful exit.
The temptation about this method would be that it's over in maybe as short as ten seconds or so- I'd be tempted to get drunk and try it if I had access to one. Most methods take a lot longer. Jumping from a very tall building might take only six seconds to impact, but you may end up paralyzed. If a person had access to powerful opioid painkillers then ten seconds to get it all over with might seem tempting. Of course the terror of the sound of the machine and knowing what is coming would prevent most people from doing this.Last edited:
