• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'd like to purchase SN, but I currently have no plans to actually use it. And since I live with family, purchasing it makes it possible that they might expose themselves to it accidentally.

At the same time though, I'd rather snatch up the SN now while it's still easily orderable online, and after being resigned to having to hang myself, it's very much a relief to know that I at least have this method as an option if I ever do decide to CTB in the future.

What do y'all think?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question? I feel like it's not a danger to anyone if it's sealed and labeled and kept out of the way. Most sensible people aren't going to randomly open a sealed chemical for no reason, nevermind consume it. As for kids keep it well out of the way and well sealed just like any other toxic product.

Okay, good. Honestly, I was just looking for assurance that I didn't miss anything obvious. I was getting paranoid after reading about how toxic SN is.

I'm definitely not the expert on this and haven't researched it extensively so please don't take my word on anything. But personally I've not seen anything that would worry me. If it's sealed then I don't see how/why anyone can get to it. I don't think toxic fumes can leak through the seal or anything like that. And by the time they find you, they're not going to want to touch/mess around with the thing that killed you because I'm pretty sure it'll be very obvious at that point that it's a very toxic substance.

I have the same concern, especially with pets. I'm buying a lockbox for mine.

If it's just companion animals you're concerned about, then maybe the right-sized airtight tupperware (with locking tabs on each side of the lid) would be enough. This type of container could also help keep the SN dry and minimize air exposure.
