I don't watch much anime, but there are a few that I really like!!
These are my top 5:

1. Madoka Magica
2. Made in Abyss {a guilty pleasure (╥﹏╥)}
3. Girls last tour
4. Magical girl raising project
5. School live

I also quite liked Parasyte, Death Note, A silent voice, Suzume and BNA ( ᵔ ⩊ ᵔ )

I also have mixed feelings on Magical Girl Site. It started off amazing and I loved the concept so much, but then the fetish stuff just ruined it. It would be a favourite if it weren't for the amount of sexual themes in it.

I'm curious to know what animes other people on here enjoy

I haven't seen that much anime but I think Madoka is also my favourite. I also remember enjoying Clannad and Attack on Titan (up to a certain plot twist which I found very distasteful, in case of the latter). But yeah, Madoka is definitely number one, I had a hard period during 2018/19 and if it weren't for PMMM I would have killed myself sooner.

have you heard of machikado mazoku? it has a magical girl in it, but it's a little different from your typical magical girl show.

it's soooo good~ >w< it's so funny and amazing! :D or rather, season 1 is! :D It was even my favorite anime at one point! ^_^ Unfortunately, I watched season 2, and it's much less good unfortunately, so idk if I can really call it my favorite anymore~ :(

ah. this is good to know. i'm very slow at consuming media nowadays and have been reading the 1st volume of the manga, so i'm not that far in yet. we'll see how i feel if i ever make it to season 2 of the anime, lol...

xDDD Don't worry! I am too! It took me about 3 years after it came out to actually watch season 2, and even then, it took several months to finish (partially because it was bad but also partially because it was slow too~ xD)! >_< Enjoy the manga tho! :D I love manga too! >w<

I'm more of a manga/novel reader so I haven't watched much outside of some adaptations of franchises I loved but I really loved Aoi Bungaku and Inuyashiki, really great dark adaptations of the stories they were sourced from; though the anime of Aoi Bungaku took some liberation from the actual novel its based on, No Longer Human but that's expected when changing formats…

I had debated on whether I should use Hiro of Inuyashiki, the first story's protagonist in Aoi Bungaku or Nishi from Gantz (my current pfp) when creating my account as they all reflect what I wanted to convey well.

i cant be more excited for those films they announced recently. might even have to delay ctb

Takopis Original Sin is an absolute MASTERPIECE. its only 6 episodes but GOD its gut wrenching. i cannot recommend it enough
(the 10 yr old mc does hang herself in the first episode so maybe not the best escapism show)
there are really 4 mcs: 3 kids in year 4 who all have severe but unique family troubles
and takopi, an alien thats come down to earth to spread happiness
takopi miserably fails MANY times (time travel is also a big part of the show) and it makes it feel so real. he represents those useless normies; his home planet doesnt HAVE the concept of sadness and he thinks he can just so easily stop the mc from ctb. him failing made me, in a way, euphoric? understood?
i really like this show if you couldn't tell...

im not really the biggest anime guy tbh ive watched maybe 2 other shows? (nichijou and freiren. havent finished either LOL)
