I am trapped in the psych ward and I really feel like I need to commit suicide. I have thought about a some methods, but I believe that this is the best. I don't know that much about that method and I get that it is unusual, but I think that it's better than starving or dehydration. What do you guys think about this? Is there any hidden risks that I should know about? Are there better methods?

I am grateful for any reply.

I made a post about this before, asking the same question.

It's extremely hard to do this and it would feel awful the whole way, likely wouldn't succeed.

I think that it's better than starving or dehydration.
Regardless, I think dying of hunger or thirst is impossible in a psych ward, they can just as well attach you to an IV drip.

The situation doesn't change much with water intoxication. The symptoms are so obvious that they will immediately arouse suspicion, in addition to the difficulty of the method.
I strongly advise you to seek another method. It's really difficult to find a method that is not hindered by the security of the psych ward.

When I was in your same situation I thought about using the blankets on my bed as rope, or using a plastic bag and tape to suffocate myself.
But after thinking about it for a long time, I realized it was better to avoid it, as I would only get myself into trouble. So, there was nothing left to do but get discharged as soon as possible.
It is very likely that, once outside, there is a situation (for example, related to family or friends) that hinders the suicide attempt, but the chances of success increase greatly.

Trying to CTB in a ward is nearly impossible and will just make you stay longer.

I'd strongly advise against trying to ctb at the ward, you're surrounded by staff, and so you'd be saved right away no matter which method you go for. And then you'd only extend your stay by a hell of a lot longer, which I'm sure you don't want.
Also, be as cooperative as you can be, that's the key to getting out of there faster. So don't argue with nurses, don't skip meals & if you can, try to participate in activities.. I know that's the last thing you feel like doing, but it helps in speeding up discharge.
Then plan carefully once you're out. Dont do anything without proper research first. I wish you all the best.

I know it might be hard not to but if you can please try and avoid ctbing in the ward, it more than likely will not succeed and only result in a longer stay. also this method is pretty hard if not extremely rare to even work so it wouldn't do you much good

Thank you for your replies! I have decided to not ctb at the psych ward.

I'm glad. Good luck hanging in there. Try to make a friend, helps the time go by faster and looks good to the drs. And once you're out, I'd strongly suggest another method.

Honestly your best option is to convince them that you're ok and get out.

I almost got water intoxication poisoning when i got a random drug test at work. knew i wouldn't pass so just downed a shit load of water, probably 1.5 liters. aside from the small amount of disorientation I found the pain from having that full of a stomach to be pretty awful

I tried this a couple months back and failed miserably. Once I got past a certain point I just kept vomiting up the water. Nausea did die down once my kidneys had a chance to process everything though.
