Last night, I was researching my soon-to-be professor's academic background, since I was curious about his credentials.
For his PhD thesis, he wrote about the lethality of homeopathic treatments and the various dangers of herbal medicine, and how these can induce death.
...And then he opened a homeopathy clinic.
What a power move. Lmao.

I wonder what I should do for my own thesis. My friend suggested something to do with parasites, but I don't know where I'd acquire the cadavers for that.

When I was 13 or 14 years old, I had a white rabbit named Caramel. He was very well socialized, to the point that he lost his survival instincts. He didn't run from anything, and was happy to be friends with anyone, even other animals.
That got him killed. One day, he was particularly curious about a stray cat passing through our garden, and the cat delivered a lethal bite to his neck. I wrestled the cat off, but the damage was already done. He died a few days later.
This made me rather pissed off and frustrated, since it was an avoidable death, and I imagined that my other pets might be subject to that same fate. I befriended that killer cat over the period of a few days by offering it food and pets. Then, when it trusted me enough, I trapped it and proceeded to brutalize it. A life for a life. I left the corpse visible near my home so that other cats would see it. I do not get strays near my home anymore.

Repeated bludgeoning with a metal pole that I had laying around.

Yeah, it deserved it. I personally would have made it more brutal, bash it with the metal pipe until it's weak and on the cusp of death, then pot it over an open fire, so that it's overheated, then go to a river and drown it.

Ooh, damn, I like the way you think... If I was trying to maximize the suffering, I'd definitely go with that. Though, I wouldn't get to use its corpse as a warning sign afterwards, since the river would probably whisk it away.
Not like I have any rivers nearby, anyhow...
