  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and i want to share to you my studies and knowledge on this particular topic(s) of NDE, Consciousness, Brain Activity and other relevant subjects to make you feel safer and more comfortable/confident on your ctb plans.

basically, the concept is that there is a possibility of an "afterlife", not in a spiritual sense, instead, in a scientific and more logical sense.

This may also help you on choosing your preferred ctb method and make you feel more at ease at the thought of it.

I am an avid lucid dreamer for 6 years, ive been studying dreaming, hallucinations, brain chemicals ever since i started to want and wish for more in this uninteresting plane of existence. Therefore i want to share you what ive learned so far.

Please do note that this study is still on-going, and i would love to recieve help and thoughts about it.

I will be posting more on this thread. Feel free to do so too.

my preferred ctb method would be exit bag using inert gases such as N2, AR or HE.

It is highly recommended that you, and your body is in (during ctb)

• state of calm or sedation, acceptance

• ctb method that does not inflict great brain trauma

• ctb method that induces loss of consciousness before brain death

Could the time when the brain activity produces an illusion of ever-lasting time (time dilates) be felt as what we name eternity by the dying person ? If yes, it's frightening, especially because we know that time doesn't exist in itself, then eternity (as brain production) could exist for each dying person and it could be a hell of sufferings, a hell of loneliness, a hell of whatever bad things else. Right ot wrong ?

No, it was clarified in Sector 2 of the document that not every individual would have experienced it due to the circumstances and nature of their death.

For example, the OceanGate Submarine implosion. There was not enough time for the brain to react to the extreme trauma, therefore, they most likely did not experienced that at all.

Sorry if I didn't understand at all the file I read.

The word clinical dead is misleading, because it only means cardiac arrest. You are really dead when there are no brain-activities like brain waves anymore. This is the criterion to shut down life-sustaining measures or to harvest organs. For the brain it is only important that the bloodflow through the brain stops, no matter whether the cause are blocked artheries in the neck, stopped heart beat or decapitation. If the engergy supply to the brain is stopped it goes into it´s energy-saving mode - unconsciousness. Consciousness and dreaming are great energy consumers and I cannot imagine that there is any consciousness as long as the bloodflow is blocked. This was at least my impression, when I came back after a hanging, alls this lucid experiences happened when I was laying on the ground again.

Thank you sharing your studies, really appreciated. I believe we can learn a lot from science on this topic, more than the spiritual.

Subjective time dilation cannot be eternal if the thing producing it is finite. This only works if you believe consciousness is nonphysical, able to exist apart from the brain (being a non-physicalist does not necessarily mean that you believe in an afterlife), and that an afterlife of some sort exists for these events to play out in. Consciousness-moments necessarily have a duration. They cannot be sliced up and therefore experienced as atemporal, as they are not objects. Brain death does eventually occur; and thereafter, the state of the brain/body is utterly immaterial regardless of what you believe the nature of consciousness to be. You can die in pain, and it won't matter once the pleasure-pain axis stops working, nociceptors stop firing, and phenomenal binding ceases.

Moreover, only a fraction of people who are near to death report experiencing NDEs, casting doubt on the notion that a hyper-lucid state will universally be experienced by those dying.

Peace and content are not experienced universally. There are also distressing NDEs (cf. Nancy Evans Bush), the true prevalence of which is likely underestimated due to a lack of reporting.

We cannot make robust inferences about the phenomenology of what may or may not lie beyond from NDE reports (though they may inform our views about the nature of consciousness to some extent, particularly with respect to the Greyson scale) and neuroscientific studies (which are not subjective reports from after brain death has occurred). You cannot use neurophenomenology to substantiate any of this speculation.

This hypothesis is also unfalsifiable, as you cannot falsify what is not finite and does not follow from first principles but must be accepted on a basis of faith using weak extrapolation.

In addition to this, it is nothing new.

If you want a more philosophically sound albeit unnerving theory of what happens "after" death, read up on Daniel Kolak's open individualism, Bernardo Kastrup's analytical idealism, or Miri Albahari's perennial idealism. In the interest of full disclosure, I do not buy into any of these, but neither do I outright reject them as possibilities.
