• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

What are some common mistakes people make in carbon monoxide suicide? I know a big one is not to do in an apartment complex because CO can go through walls.

From what I've seen via casual browsing its improper sealing and low co concentration. The co mega thread should have more info

Yes can't do it an apartment. ALso not doing any or enough tests with a co meter before hand. But have to be careful and use ipwebcam or some other app to view the test from far away through the phone's camera. that co meter is expensive but necessary.

I heard put a bag over your tailpipe and leave the car key in acc. and use an old car because it won't work with newer cars. You have to sit thee for at least 3 hours too. I tried this, sat in the car for over an hour and still failed. I think it's because I didn't do it in a closed off space. Which is another requirement. I wish I knew how to do it with just a mask and a CO tank, but no...Does anyone else know how to do co poisening without a car or where I can get the materials?

If you read the section on CO poisoning you will see a lot of other methods. We aren't supposed to recommend things like this to people but I encourage you read that section if you are interested as many other methods that are different than a car or tank are mentioned.

I am extremely interested and invested in using gas with a SCBA mask.

I wanted to use carbon monoxide after reading the transcription of Jerry Hunt's instructional video tape. However, it seems to have become much more difficult to obtain since the time of his death.

I called a local US gas supplier and was told that if I wanted obtain a cylinder of from them, I must allow them to conduct an "in-person inspection of my site".

Obviously due to the well-known danger of CO they want to make sure that they are selling to someone who will use it for industrial purposes.

I have since decided to use nitrogen since it's more readily available but if anyone knows where to obtain CO I would be interested.

One thing I urge everyone to consider with CO2 is the consequences if you fail- obviously, most methods will have some sort of consequence if you start it and fail. However, usually those consequences are quite apparent immediately. With CO2, it's different- effects can take weeks (sometimes more) to set in, and they are permanent (brain and memory/concentration issues, cognitive deficits, chronic migraines and headaches, tinnitus, etc.) it's the reason for me personally, this choice is off the table- I could not cope if I failed and had to sit and wait and wonder what the consequences would be for weeks on end, especially if I ended up being forcibly hospitalized and having a change of heart regarding living (which can happen to even the most diehard, ready to catch the bus individuals if they fail- it's survival instinct.) just something to consider when you weigh your options
