I hope this is okay to ask here...

I think the only way to stop myself is to avoid going into a shop. I have bought adult chewable necklaces.

I don't have self control when I'm depressed. I have a yoghurt addiction. Then it all is less controlled when I am stoned.

I am pretty overweight and really need to stop comfort eating.

If anyone has any tips please give them.

Raw vegetables. I still eat shit loads when I'm stressed, but it's much less fattening for me. Although, I'm still fat so I'm maybe not the best person to respond….

Something that helps me is drinking something instead of eating to comfort. I personally like to drink milk tea or coffee, but it can be any drink you find comforting :) idk if that would help you though, its also easier said than done ;-;

Maybe try chewing sugar free gums? Super low in calories and taste good.

What is an adult chewable necklace?

Appetite suppressants. Adderall, Ozempic, etc.

Everything I eat is delicious. Stay skinny with fiber-rich meals. Mix lentil soup with steamed broccoli and cauliflower purée, and fresh lemon juice. Eat vegetable and fruit plates with the healthiest high-protein, low-sugar yogurt available. I eat two restaurant meals per week to satisfy cravings, so it's as if I never restrict. The best way to avoid overeating is to take appetite suppressants and eat healthy meals.

I buy a bag of chupa chups. When I tempted to comfort eat I have one of those instead. They're good, because they are long lasting.

I am the same way. I take adderall and I'm still barely able to stop emotional eating. It's really tough and I can relate to your struggle. I wish I had advice for you.

Thinking about food makes me grave it more, like my gut gets more tense and and my mind is running wild. so i guess you should keep yourself busy with something else- if you have habbits like watching some show while eating, then try to avoid watching it. I also don't buy lots of food because i tend to overeat- i make just one portion at the time, something like soup or boiled eggs.

I made myself stop buying sweet and salty snacks just over a week ago after my weight ballooned (again) and now that I've got used to not having comfort snacks on hand, I no longer kid myself that I "need" them. I've got loads of tasty yoghurts instead and I got some of my favourite jam to have on toast to take care of the sweet tooth urges. (I'll eventually replace these with fresh fruit but past experience says it's best to do this slowly. Toast is much better than a mountain of chocolate and sweets all afternoon and evening!) I'm not quite back at a regular three, healthy meals a day but I'm getting there.

Good luck!
