Combination of methods

I apologize if this has been asked already. I am hoping someone with more science/anatomy knowledge might be able to answer a couple of questions. As my greatest fear is failure to ctb but being left brain damaged, I was wondering if combining two methods would be viable. If I were to ingest SN then use partial to pass out/ hopefully die, what might happen if the SN causes vomiting but the neck is tied off? Would aspiration occur? Would the vomiting reflex potentially bring one out of unconsciousness? Any thoughts would be appreciated (I understand there are no definitive answers).

Ooohh. I'd hate to vomit in that situation. I think SN is enough.

SN does not cause brain damage, but hanging might. I think better to use SN alone.

I guess the time before losing consciousness with SN scares me. Not knowing how painful, miserable, SI kicking in, etc. I absolutely do not want to fail. This is the hardest decision to make.

My rule of thumb is that combining methods generally means there are more things to go wrong. If a method has a high enough level of certainty on its own (such as SN) then there is no point in combining it with another anyway.

Almost the only reasons why SN can fail are because people don't follow the instructions, get discovered early and rescued, or change their mind and seek help. As long as you cover all of those options, you are almost guaranteed success. Both the PPH and Stan's Guide describe the relative peacefulness of the method. I hope you have read both those resources thoroughly?

As for SI, you should bear in mind that if you are seriously concerned about it kicking in during the SN method, it may be an indication that you aren't yet ready to commit.

I have read the resources thoroughly. I am still trying the procure the AE. I was under the assumption that SI was somewhat involuntary even if fully committed?

I spent a lot of time researching the method, planning, and preparing. I did a journal on the forum about the planning and preparation. I came to the conclusion that I am not able to easily tolerate some of the symptoms I'm certain I'll have, so it is my backup method. I have others, and will only do SN if I fail.

I've also thought a lot about SI. I've come to the conclusion that it's a matter of circumstance. For instance, I am terrified of heights and can't jump, but if I were near a cliff and bunch of terrorists were heading toward me and I knew they would torture me if they caught me, I would overcome the SI and jump, because jumping would be survival. For me, there's a message in SI: "I just can't."

For now, when I consider SN, I just can't. If the other methods fail, then I will have to adjust my thinking, so that I can. I need to be able to ride out those many minutes of discomfort like terrorists are and I need to get it over with before they get to me. I need the determination. I'm not sure yet how I'll accomplish that, but I know that I can, it's just going to take a lot of meditation and mental preparation. I have to be 100% confident and certain, then the symptoms won't matter so much. I need to be in the mindset that I can, and that I will.

Oh yes, I'm not saying that some degree of SI isn't always going to be present. But it's certainly better to explore and consider the source and meaning of your SI now rather than during an attempt.
