• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

    Donate via cryptocurrency:

    Bitcoin (BTC):
    Ethereum (ETH):
    Monero (XMR):

Doesn't anyone just want to drop off the grid like Chris McCandless and see what happens?

I remember reading "Into the Wild" when I was in my freshman year of college. I had idealized that lifestyle for a long time, just being away from civilization. My ultimate fantasy was to live on a remote tropical island a la Castaway but with actual people instead of Wilson.

I don't have such fantasies anymore. People with chronic illnesses are slaves to society.

I think McCandless had a dream to go back to a simpler way of life, a way we used to live but possiby did it in a wrong way.

But what a dream. To be free.

Yep. Supertramp. But, not to be confused with the kick a** rock group from the '70s. *Wink*

I was thinking about that for a while, a few years ago, but not being very outdoors-y and having no knowledge or experience regarding survival in the wilderness has put me off that idea.
