After about 2 weeks of trying to solve the problem of closing the carotid arteries rather than the jugular veins in my neck, I think I've stumbled upon the answer. The aim of course is to pass out quickly from lack of blood flow into the brain, without crushing your trachea/ windpipe/ Adam's apple. I don't want to suffer I just want to sleep and ctb as quickly and efficiently as possible. I know hanging is 100% effective once you commit to dropping off that chair. But if the rope is incorrectly positioned it could be an agonising and distressing minute or two that you go through. Not really up for that, feel sorry for those who went before and endured it.

No doubt, like me, you've managed to find the scattered info on this and still couldn't get any of it right. Very frustrating to say the least and all those that did succeed can't tell us anything about the experience!

So here's the solution.
PART 1 SWEET SPOT
1.) You probably need about 3 meters of 5mm nylon rope. This kind of rope easily holds 200KG. The length will depend on your anchor points, which you will understand as you read on.
2). Place the middle of the rope high on the back of your neck.
3.) Cross over the two ends in front of you above you Adams apple (if you have one). For the ladies find a similar high point, as that's not the part of the female anatomy I've been studying all these years ;)
4.) swap hands so the end of the rope that is hitting the right side of your neck is now in your left hand and the rope on the left side of your neck in in your right hand.
5.) NOTE: There is NO NEED to tie any kind of knot where the rope crosses your neck.
6.) Test position of rope by pulling the two ends in each hand at a 45 degree angle in front and/or above you. If you dont know what 45 degrees looks like: Facing a wall its halfway between your shoulder and the wall you are facing. The rope is best secured at a height level with your neck, rather than high above you.
7.) Position achieved? Pulling hard on both ends should hit the sweet spot. You should feel dizzy and lightheaded. This will be achieved without hitting the jugulars which would inflate your head with blood pressure and and also without crushing the front of your throat.

PART 2 Anchor points and hanging.

8.) If part 1 was the easy bit, part 2 may be more problematic, depending on your situation.
9.) As we can't hang on to the 2 ends of the rope after we pass out, we need to anchor them.
10.) You'll need to anchor the two ends such that they provide the same desired angle of attack on your neck. Each end will be anchored to a different point in front and to the side of you. Best results are at whatever your neck height is, rather than above you. Remember you are just trying to keep the tension on the rope by tying it to something so that it produces the same feeling on your neck. I'm sure a wardrobe rail would easily provide the two anchor points.
11.) Ease back into the now anchored rope, adjust as necessary to get that sweet spot. If you feel dizzy that's the moment you should allow more of your weight to be born by the rope. And that should be it. Make sure you relax into the rope in a way that will sustain the desired pressure on your neck.

Notes:
I think this could be quite successful and will try later or tomorrow for full effect. If people find this useful please refer to it as the Skylar method, so I can be remembered for doing something worthwhile. :) I hope this helps, I hope it actually works. But it does seem the most promising and least painful.
Even though the rope is not tied around your neck, because it is crossed over and the ends tied, your body weight has effectively created a noose that is continuing to tighten, so I dont really see how it could come loose, or the pressure be relieved unless you stand up or the anchor points fail.

I've found the best way so far for me is a single bed that has bars around three sides. By anchoring the rope at each far end with me kneeling towards the bed to tie it. then leaning upright causes it to tighten perfectly, and leaning back does the rest. pad the back of the neck with a folded cloth, a cushion for your knees and off you pop.

By the way I suggest putting a thin piece of material around your neck first such as neck warmer or silk scarf, it just stops the rope burns on your skin, but all probably know that anyway.

Good luck to you all, whether you decide to ctb or manage to overcome whatever demons drove you to this point. x

I don't really understand this. Was wondering if you could show photos or a video on what you mean or DM me?
