I don't think you can be born suicidal because as a baby you wouldn't have the cognitive ability to think like that. I've had passing suicidal thoughts for around a decade maybe.

It depends... Do we have "free will"? Is there some kind of determinism in place that decide our own future since day one? I don't think anyone know for sure regarding this existential issue. I hope no one is born and destined to be suicidal. That would be a really depressing reality.

Good point ive always felt 'what would happen would happen' but its been a rough road and i dont understand why everyone else around the place seem to be happy as can be

Been thinking about it and my grandpa wanted to die badly, my dad used to say he would drive into a cliff, my sister wanted to be shoot, my oldest kid said he thought about jumping infront of a train, my youngest screamed that he didnt want to exist and wanted to return "home".
And you all know why im here. It definitely runs in the family.

I have seen people who have been suicidal since very young, not necessarily because of external reasons tho (in most cases it is because of external factors, like abuse). In those cases I guess it's about genetics. And some people are born more sensitive or prone to child depression. It took me until I was 11 to become suicidal, so yeah. I've seen kids as young as 4 wanting to 'sleep forever'. Which, obviously, expresses suicidal intent but the kid doesn't know what it all entails. They just want to stop being sad.

Depends, I've read a lot of comments where people have tried to commit suicide since they were very young. Personally I wasn't born suicidal. Well I do remember asking God to take my life when I was young. LOL But I wasn't suicidal.

Do you think theres any hope.??..i feel ive lost all hope and confused as where i want to die i cant go outside but my kids here i dont want them to find me.....back to the drawing board need to make a plan that will work and execute it properly
Mine too.
Rallyon, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by asking if there's any hope. I've always known I'll ctb, and have been depressed in the past, but I'm not depressed now and I've enjoyed a lot of what I've experienced in life. Still do. That doesn't get in the way of knowing I'll ctb and wanting to do it properly when it's time - so if either of those is related to what you'd mean by hope, then I vote yes.
But you're the only one who can decide about your own life. I hope you find your way, and that you'll talk well with your kids so they don't feel they're to blame.

Personally I don't think you are born suicidal but depression and other mental illnesses are inheritable, so more or less you can be born with a higher suicide risk.

I dont think you are born suicidal. The lifestyle you have determines that. I do think some people are more destined to commit suicide, and dare i say it i do believe some people no matter how hard they try in life, were meant to have a bad incarnation which really does suck. Thats just my opinion though. Good question though.

I think my first brush with suicidal ideation came when I was 4 and heard "under the bridge" and just wanted to go back to that sweet city of angels. It was my 1st song I fell in love with.

Obviously you can't be born suicidal because an infant has no concept of suicide. But people can be genetically pre-disposed to depression and suicide and this can have a strong influence from an early age.
My grandma died crippling depression all her life and my uncle died at near my age and his death was ruled suicide. I am completely certainly I feel as bad as him if not worse. So yeah. Didn't exactly win any lottery here. Thanks Dad for your shitty genes while being a fuckin stupid douchebag
My father attempted suicide 7 times starting when I was 12. I started attempting suicide when I was 13.
So I definitely learned that behavior from him.
but you´re Curt, dear.
I mean, you´ve made phantastic music and already caught the bus.
I feel disappointed, that over there not seem to be much teen spirit.
Although babies probably don't come out of the womb wanting to die because they barely know what's going on, and we might not know what death, existence or suicide even are until we are told or experience something (difficult to say, I don't know). But it seems entirely possible that you could be at least more prone to depressive and suicidal feelings because of your genes. Could that happen to the extent that it needs no outside influence to encourage those feelings? Possibly. I don't think personal emotional trauma is always necessary to be suicidal (unless just being alive counts as trauma). I don't think this question can be answered with complete certainty.
