Blood pressure dropped 15 points in 2 months, could I escape this way

Doctor wants to investigate thyroid, I came off steroids and my BP has been dropped ever since but not this acute in this abbreviated amount of time

How low? I have had hypothyroidism for the past better than 20 years, pretty severe hypothyroidism at that, and even when unmedicated, my blood pressure was never low (nor high).

Yeah, that's getting down there. You take any supplements or anything?

So, how long were you on steroids? How long have you been off of them? Did you wean off them slowly? Maybe your adrenal gland isn't back up to fully functioning again, yet. Did they do electrolyte tests? I admit, that drop in bp is concerning.

12 years, stopped essentially cold turkey because my career ended and lease ended and moved back home. Not doing illegal stuff, only go through doctor. Been off since October. I am sure I'm being irrational but I hope it takes me out because I cant actively commit.

Does your doc know you stopped them like that, cold turkey? May I ask why you were taking them? Were they anabolic steroids? Yeah, that's not a good way to stop any type of steroid.

Hospice put my mom on steroids after a fall. She refused any treatment, or to go to the hospital, so her doctor got Hospice involved. First thing they did was start her on steroids for pain control. After about a month, a social worker and myself convinced her to get therapy at a nursing home, since she wasn't able to walk. She was supposed to do 30 days there just to get her back on her feet. She made remarkable progress, even climbing stairs. Then, right before she was supposed to come home, a doctor there noticed she was on steroids and decided to wean her off them. He weaned her off too fast and she "crashed". Her adrenal gland couldn't recover that fast to start taking over again from what the steroids were doing. She lost all the progress she had made and was even in a fetal position for several days because of the pain from her adrenal gland not fully functioning. She had to stay an additional 45 days to allow her body to recover and go through therapy all over again.

Yes anabolic. Was a bodybuilder. Planned on staying on forever, life vanished before my eyes. Maybe it will keep dropping.

Yeah, I don't know if anabolic steroids can permanently affect glandular activity. Worth talking about with doc I'd say.

No. Thanks for inquiring about my mom. This was some years ago. She's passed away now. She did end up getting back on her feet, to a certain extent, after rehab. She was at least able to get around on the main floor of her house with a walker - couldn't do stairs anymore. She did ok like that for a number of years with minimal assistance from me. I just had to get her groceries, which I basically had been doing, anyway, because she didn't drive, and empty the commode, mostly, and whatever else she needed. It was all ok although she was a shut-in for about 8, 9 years.
