I'm diabetic and take a beta blocker for high blood pressure, and a normal dose by itself lowers my pulse below 60 and my sugar below 80. Wondering what might happen if I increase the dose and inject a bunch of insulin?

Do you think the combined effect will be enough to CTB? I won't be found for at least 12 hours.

Yeah, I doubt the insulin alone would do it but thinking maybe the beta blockers would help to push my vitals low enough.

I just heard about a court case where someone killed several people with an insulin overdose.

im diabetic 2 and take insulin yes and also high blood pressure so low blood sugar is really not how i want to die and most of the time it's like that you still wake up with brain damage

Even if you don't receive prompt medical assistance?

Interesting timing, just watched a documentary about brain injuries. One of the people in the documentary had her quite bad brain injury due to a failed insulin overdose (attempting to CTB).
Not trying to scare you, but please be 100 percent sure on what you are doing and how you are doing it.
(if anyones interested, it's Louis Theroux: A Different Brain)

Apparently insulin is actually a treatment for beta blocker overdoses so that's out.

If I just take the 60 6.25mg Carvedilol tablets, would do you think would happen If I'm not found for 12 hours? Is it possible I could throw them up too soon?

I've looked it up (was one of the meds I was left with following my husband's death) and found the following:

Only one previous case of carvedilol overdose has been reported. Here, we report massive carvedilol ingestion confirmed by quantitative analysis. The case report deals with an 84-year-old man who chewed a total of 60 (6.25 mg) tablets and rapidly developed symptoms. Vital signs on presentation were systolic blood pressure 70 mmHg; heart rate 45 beats/min.; respirations 18 breaths/min.; temperature 37 degrees . The electrocardiogram showed a junctional rhythm at 49 beats/min. The patient was treated with normal saline boluses, repeated glucagon boluses (2-3 mg each) and a dopamine infusion. At 14 hr after ingestion, he was weaned off vasopressors and was in a normal sinus rhythm. Quantitative confirmation showed a carvedilol serum concentration of 472 ng/ml (steady-state concentration 8.5 ng/ml during 6.25 mg twice daily dosing). Despite its unique pharmacological properties, the clinical manifestations of carvedilol overdose appear similar to other beta-adrenoreceptor antagonists

So, it doesn't look like that amount of carvedilol would do much if you were found.

I actually saw yesterday a fuller version of that article and the background is the guy got medical help pretty quickly. He had Alzheimer's and he ate his wife's prescription in the car while she was running errands. So I'm wondering if going without help for 12 hours would produce a different result. I assume so but I don't know for sure. Thanks for your help.
