All my life I thought I was someone important to the people around me. But it turns out that either with me or without me things will keep on running. The grand plan of the universe will take place either with us or without us.

Yes, our lives are all so meaningless and insignificant, and they do not matter. We only exist for the sake of existing, there is no point or purpose to being alive. All that humans are doing is just passing the time until they die. The things that seem important to us now, will eventually not be as things will be unable to matter to us once we are dead. I think that humans often see themselves as being important as this existence is all that they know, they cannot comprehend what it is like to be dead.
