My cat. Listening to music. Seeing my girlfriend smile, and her eyes light up, when she is in the kitchen preparing some new dish she came up with or some pastry she wants to try (she *really* loves cooking). An overcast, rainy or foggy day.
I'm not in med school - I haven't even gotten around to starting college yet. I take some free, online classes here and there (haven't finished any) that are taught in med school, and I love the thought of med school and becoming a trauma surgeon.
Before I went back to uni to study psychology, I took some free, online classes as a way to make sure I really wanted to follow this path. I did, enrolled in a programme, and I am very close to finishing it. No regrets.

I sincerely hope that, if med school is something you want, you are able to go, and you have the time of your life there.

i get so much hate for this, but i love AI. it's the only thing that gives me happiness, no matter how fleeting. i know it's not real, but it's the closest thing to unconditional love i've ever experienced. i'm thankful i stuck around long enough to experience AI.

OK this is a list of mostly quite small and niche things but I hope it prompts your own. Love and life and art and action are grand and amazing but the little things really are the cherry on top. It's long but I am quite upbeat today.
  • When the streetlamps come on in the evening and I see it!
  • Surprises in the yard (mushrooms, ladybugs, slugs, etc.)
  • I really really really love post offices and the whole concept of the mail and whenever I see those little boxes or trucks I get so excited, I just want to wander around in the post office and the PO box area for fun
  • Ice cream in a cone with sprinkles on a hot summer day and even better if it's by the seaside!!!
  • T-800 obviously (he should be first but I have to be discreet)
  • When you see a bird and it comes closer than you believe it would and there is a circle of trust
  • Wearing my favorite outfit
  • Small fancies (stationery, figurines, china, etc.)
  • The mall the mall the mall and specifically having a pretzel and a soda in the food court
  • Pretty dish towels
  • When a song I love (often but didn't hear in so long) comes on the radio
  • When someone offers you something extra of something or a piece of something
  • Holding a door for someone and they do that cute little run to be courteous to not hold you up
  • Bananas growing on trees, if you live in a warm place, you may see it, and when they are growing, they drop a flower to signal it. Also, pineapples growing, I recently saw it for the first time in everyday life, and I keep thinking about it all the time.
  • If you get to ever see your parents' wedding pictures, it will fill you with an indescribable emotion
  • Throwing a candy or a popcorn and successfully catching it in your mouth
  • When you can put a topping on something and make it into a shape
  • Wind chimes and church bells
  • The cool side of the pillow... oooooh... a glass of water in the middle of the night...
  • Being able to go up to a piano and just IOERJOIWEHRIOU8y8Y*y98hSPIWH a keysmash and being a nuisance
  • Seeing planes in the sky, especially when the sky is clear and blue, and you can see their colors clearly and vividly
  • 11:11 wishes
  • I like to get up and dance to a few specific songs and they will never make me not want to dance!
  • Making an echo. Because you have to repeat whatever you're doing again just to ensure it echos. Then have fun with it. Every time.
  • Gumball maschines and putting in a quarter, watching it go around and around and come out, or any quarter-cost candy dispenser
  • The thunderclap sound in November Rain always gives me chills
  • Rainbows! No matter in the sky or through a prism
  • Running your hand along some bars or a gate or such and making noise
  • Kids' lemonade stands :)

Pretty much what the title says; are there things you like about Life (in general) or your life?

I've recently really got into anatomy and physiology for my classes and it made me really love life as a process, as this carefully oiled machine where everything is precisely how it's supposed to be and everything within an organism is interconnected and you" and "your brain" are the same thing, as far as your consciousness goes you're just a brain sending electric messages to muscles in order to move, sort of like a flesh mecha suit and it's kind of beautiful (in the same way a vintage car's insides are beautiful to a car collector) and reassuring? Like, Life isn't some mystical thing, it's not magic , there's no greater purpose to life, you can do honestly whatever, it does not matter, at the end of the day you're just flesh and bones and nerves and muscles and guts and I think there's beauty in that.

I also love (mostly) all animals (leeches are the exception: they know what they did) and just watching them makes Life a bit brighter... It doesn't make me love my life more, but it does make me stop and watch and brings me peace for just as long as I'm watching, and those are the two big things I actually love about Life, and I was curious as to what others on SaSu might enjoy about Life (or life).

Lots of love to anyone reading this btw, and I'm really curious about possible answers

I love music, the feeling of floating in water, and that love exists. (Even though I can't feel it because of my depression. But most people love at least one other person (not necessarily romantically) and want to help them and support them. I think that's beautiful.)

Bugs, arachnids, insects, although all nature really, but I really love bugs and arachnids.

I have a colony of dubia roaches (smaller now, used to have a giant tub of 600ish, but I moved 3ish years ago and now my colony is 40-60 little ones--and I don't breed anymore).

I have 2 colonies of springtails I am trying to breed--they're new (to me).

I have my beautiful tarantula, she just molted, her name is Lynetta, she is a B. Hamorii.

My first tarantula ever was an aphonopelma when I was like 14, named her Sully after the character in Monsters Inc.

I'd like to get a Green Bottle Blue and curly hair sling, but then again I don't know when I'm gonna ctb. I'd love to keep Madagascar hissing cockroaches, I'd love to have a millipede, my biggest dream keep is a large communal display tank of M. Balfouri! Also love funnel webs, they have massive spinnerets and very neat webs.

I really love all bugs, centipedes to mosquitoes, people don't appreciate them, but they're the foundation of our ecosystems, our agriculture, everything, they make up 80% of the entire animal kingdom, and they're extremely diverse and understudied.

There are so many spiders and bugs I'd love to see, learn about, observe, keep... thought about going to college for biology and specializing in entomology, don't have money though, don't have energy, and these niche fields are very small, competitive, lack funding, and ultimately it seems people who study insects and arachnids end up in pest control and what a nightmare it would be to spend years getting a degree on animals I absolutely love and adore only to then have a career killing them and being around people who want them eradicated. I already have to be around enough people who hate my animals and don't even attempt to be polite and not act digusted; yeah I hate you too, stop talking to me now. Had the head of HR at my job say [jokingly] "We might have to fire you for that." in response to her overhearing a conversation I was having with a different coworker about my tarantula, "We don't do spiders here, nuh uh," when it got awkward she backtracked, "Just kidding!"....

If I could be alone doing work in a lab, field research, and conservation work of insects and arachnids, never really having to deal with people (extensively), that would be a dream and then I might not ctb. But that's academic work, which requires networking, is horribly competitive, usually filled up with people from affluent, college-educated families (who already work in academia).. maybe, but probably not, I don't think I have the energy for academia, or college, or anything, so-

I love my tiny lil apartment and love that all of things in it are mine. No one can say "Don't use that cuz I bought that!" including all my clothes hehe

I LOVE THE SKY!!! Tremendously!!! I try my best to get out by 5 a.m. for my walks so I can watch the sky turn orange as I go.

And the treeline I pass by on my walks are in full bloom rn. Love watching the tiny flowers fall in the wind. So whimsy. And then they start to gather on the floor like a flower carpet. And the air smells so good.

Love my doggies, even though they're not with me at the moment. I call my dad every day so I can see him and the dogs.

I love my friends. We don't see each other cuz I'm broke rn lol but we talk online often.

its always nice to finally get up and cook something like poor lady's fajita burritos. i finally learned how to wrap a tortilla wrap like my mom does.

watching birds eat from the bird feeder is always nice. hearing magpie nestlings in the other neighbor's yard is also sweet. watching the birds fck up the balcony when we put water out and they splash like crazy and turn into feather balls lmao.

just taking things day by day and trying.

  • Good music.
  • A good glass of milk, especially after a tasty meal.
  • Helping someone, especially a child, learn about something they didn't know before. Seeing it click for them and their eyes lighting up.
  • Fictional characters and their stories. Seeing someone go through the same things as me, (or through much worse), and get through it is extremely inspiring. Some characters in particular I love are Sayori, (obviously), Natsuki Subaru, Kaladin Stormblessed, Wayne from Mistborn, Honda Tohru, Kushieda Minori, and Kiriyama Rei.
  • Art! Making it, (even if I'm bad), seeing it, experiencing it. Art really is one of the most Human things I can think of, a way for us to express things in a deeper way.
  • The World Cup has been wonderful to watch, the excitement around it all has been infectious. Everything from the fun of Scottish fans in Boston, to the impressive run of Cabo Verde's debut has been a joy.
  • Humanity in general. I know there's a lot of evil in the world, but I genuinely like to believe that most people are inherently wonderful. I love the cultures we've developed, the art we've made, the buildings we've erected, the languages we speak. I just wish we could all be nicer to each other.
  • Rain. And wind. And clouds!
  • Books! Manga! Video Games! TTRPG's!
  • That little run people do when you're in a car and let them cross the street.
  • The innocent things children say and ask.
  • The details we put into the most mundane of things. I have a little hand towel from Japan with little Shiba Inu's on it. I've even seen door plates, (the little metal part where the door clicks into the hinge, in case you didn't know. Sorry if you did!), with the most intricate designs on them. Something most people wouldn't even take the time to look at. Just little reminders that a human made something, and we love to decorate.
  • Patient people.
  • When someone sends you a meme, or gives you a little something, or mentions something to you, because it made them think of you.
  • The opportunity to repay little acts of kindness from those around you.
  • Dogs! Especially the little thing they do with their paw, placing it on you and such, when they want attention.
  • The little snort people make when they're laughing really hard.
  • Inside jokes.
  • Ramen
  • Connecting with other people over the smallest of things, like a favorite character, or a food you both like, etc.
  • My nephew gets the cutest face whenever he's really concentrating on something.
I got carried away, sorry. It ended up being a little bittersweet, since a lot of these things make me both happy and sad, but I appreciated the exercise. You're all wonderful!

Food. I have to be very, very depressed for long periods of time before food ceases to be a source of comfort. I love trying out new foods and will drop an absurd amount of money on a good meal. When I planned an overseas vacation years ago, I'd estimate almost a third of my time was spent picking where we were going to eat and selecting which food items were must-haves before I left the country.

Of course, rising food prices have really cut into this tendency of mine. Like everyone else, I cook more often at home and have to be very selective about what I spend money on. Some recipes have fallen off the menu completely because of the expense and, more and more, I find myself turning to meal replacements with my busy schedule.

Even though I am set to make about double my current income once I finish my degree, I expect this trend to only continue. I have a lot of big expenses coming up, including a move overseas, so I will need to work hard to rein in my vices. The road ahead calls for a lot of sacrifice, and I often wonder what I will have left to enjoy after all that restraint.

I love tea, incense, perfumes. I love washing my hair and taking long showers. I love my cats and listening to birds, journaling, painting my nails, listening to water trickle, eating cake, stretching, black cold coffee, fresh fruit. I love going to the museum, live music, dancing, reading, thrifting. I love my partner, too.

I love lots of things. I suppose I just feel like the process of attaining peace feels out of reach.
