I forgive too easily and I sorta hate myself for it. I should stay angry when people willfully commit grave injustices against others.

Yeah. I don't want to say who some of them are in case they end up checking this forum when/if I pass. I have also endured quite a lot of cruelty and negligence. I don't currently forgive it and who knows whether I'll have the time to. Such is life.

Interesting question. I used to hold a lot of hate for certain people who had wronged me in the past, but now I'm so numb I don't care at all. Maybe that's a kind of forgiveness.

I want to forgive so that I can let go of all baggage.

It's just easier said than done.

People misunderstand forgiveness - it's not about letting other people off the hook, or somehow passively saying that their injustices were okay, it's about detaching from it and not identifying with the pain anymore and no longer letting those events rule over you.
