I'm still in my initial research about the SN method, and all the posts I've found about it differ more or less from what's in the PPH.

I myself think that the benzos should be taken at least 30 minutes before the SN.

Is there any variation of the protocol that is more established and reliable, or can I just follow the PPH exactly?

Thanks everyone

I think PPH is regarded as the most reliable source here.

5 Hydroxyzine tablets knocked me out after 1.5 hours. I tested them in the evening. I hope it was the tablets and not natural sleep. Many take benzodiazepines before SN

PPH's SN protocol is the gold standard developed by medical professionals and is tested across hundreds if not thousands of successful suicides.

When you crush the amount of benzos the PPH mentions and drink it dissolved in water, the benzos hit much faster. If you're going to take it before, I wouldn't do it more than 1-2 minutes, max.

Here's an attempt that failed by taking the benzos only 10 minutes beforehand, causing the person to lose consciousness before being able to consume the SN. There were opioids involved as well but considering that the benzos taken were considerably less than the PPH's recommendations for diazepam (170mg vs. 1g), I would take this as a note of caution.

got it. is the other info still good?
Propranolol is no longer recommended. Optional now. Depends on how much tachycardia bothers you

Other than that probably not much else, it's fairly simple protocol

Hey. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this, I would imagine it would be fine, depending on the persons tolerance level, personally if I take a benzo, I knock out rather quickly because my body's not use to them. I took a whole z bar once and slept for 2 and a half days. SN is also my method, and I'm already prescribed Meto (reglan) and opioids for the regime.

I also have questions about the PPH SN protocol and the benzo problem. Here is another thread about it. When you crush the benzos, they seem to be more effective (I've asked to chatGPT) but in the other side, AI say it can be LESS effective. That said, I trust PPH. I'd like to know what is in the latest version of the book but I'm under 50 so unable to buy it

Everyone, AI is NOT a trustworthy tool. It's programmed to tell you what it thinks you want to hear. It does not have logic or reasoning capabilities. It is not capable of understanding what it is saying. Please double-check everything it tells you by doing actual research.

To quote @Forveleth:

"You crush the tablets, which means you drastically shorten the time it takes for the medication to do its thing. Your stomach does not have to break down the outer coating first to get to the chemicals.

We should also be taking these after fasting so your stomach will not have anything else to digest so you can get to the medication faster. Most of the time when people take their pills they have at least some food in there that slows down the process."

EVERYONE: THE PILLS ARE COATED SO THEY ARE TAKEN UP BY THE BODY SLOWER. THIS IS WHY IT TAKES LONGER FOR EFFECTS TO BE FELT IN PILL FORM.

IF YOU TAKE THE CRUSHED BENZOS BEFORE THE SN, THEY WILL HIT WITHIN 2-10 MINUTES AND YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP. YOU WILL FAIL.

PROTOCOL IS CREATED FOR A REASON. IT WAS CREATED BY MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS MUCH SMARTER THAN US WHO HAVE ALREADY THOUGHT ALL THESE THINGS OUT.

FOLLOW PROTOCOL.

May I pipe in about the PPH handbook about amitriptyline? I currently have 8,779mg of it. crushed (I hoarded the last bit, and when they sent a refill i went and got it before they realized I wasn't taking it anymore) I have the smaller dosage that i can crush up (the red colored ones, I forgot the dosage atm) but i'm not confident that it will work. plus its a LOT to dissolve after i crushed them all! so any advice would be great.

This is probably a stupid question but, I have my SN, meto, and benzos locked up and hidden safely in a cool, dry, dark location, because my CBT is going to be a "game day decision". I don't want to take the time to crush them rite before "my time". Can I pre-crush them, and store it in powder form, or will it lose its effectiveness being stored like that? My guess is it'll be fine, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks

According to both the 2022 and 2025 editions of the PPH, you do not crush amitriptyline (if I am reading this correctly). It says to put the required pills in a glass, cover them with enough water so they are submerged, and they will dissolve themselves completely, maybe needing some agitation (shaking or stirring).

Would maybe test this with a single pill to confirm.

Just to be fully clear do not crush your meto.

I would not pre-crush benzos. They have protective coatings on them that are destroyed by crushing, and while it's unknown how much crushing would degrade the pills over time, it seems like an unnecessary risk for 1-2 minutes effort.

Sure, thats right. You just shutdown sudenly, sitting or standing.
But i think that taking like 2 pills of clonazepam before can be good to deal with the anxiety.
