That person has several red-flag posts and I reported a heinous thread yesterday which has only been deleted, and they are still here

I wonder if the moderation system doesn't show past reports or smth... or moderators don't have 1 week Suspension or ban buttons (and only the admin have them, and the admin might login less frequently than ideal)

PS: I'm saving this post, like other posts I make... to disk, so that I have a local copy that can't be easily deleted remotely.

All his posts are some variation of the same "I want to kill everyone, the world should end because I don't get sex, other people are having sex and love and I am denied it woe is me, I am world's biggest victim because I am deprived of women".

Yep, I suggested opening a ticket coz not all profiles are visible... I've opened a ticket about why my post was removed, and learnt it was removed in case it spreads misinformation (was smth about non oral forms of SN consumption, and "I wonder what happens if"... can probably be misread as "EB didn't disagree so maybe he said ok")

@NormallyNeurotic some of that would definitely be permissible under the auspices of our most benevolent rules, but the islamic terrorist and wishing death on anyone in a relationship stuff (oh, and hating children who are born to good parents, that's another gem) are too much to let slide hopefully.

I got an alert actually saying they were "warned" for the post in the xmas thread so...cool i guess.

Yeah, the "allowed" posts are more illustrate the pattern. They keep wishing death on people, and also murder (the difference between "widespread death" and "widespread homicide" is notable imo), and they also have expressed willingness to become a terrorist (even if they meant it exaggeratively, we cannot know for sure).

Also yeah got that notif too! I honestly forgot I had reported that before searching for screenshots so I couldn't remember if it was an old report of someone else or not.

A while ago when I made a thread asking for advice on overcoming cravings for my drug of choice, this person derailed my thread and talked about their porn addiction. I know that they're struggling with mental illness but I thought that derailing my thread like that was tone deaf and just an unnecessary thing to do.

I think this thread started with the good intent of showing examples of common dangers, but that it's quickly devolving into a free-for-all firing flak at just about anything.

Half of the content presented here are just controversial opinions. Someone not acknowledging the patriarchy, or hating jews, or whatever is not a danger we need to watch out for - it's either an acceptable opinion, or an unacceptable opinion. There are moderators in place to judge, and people ought to report as they see fit.
An ad-hoc tribunal serves no purpose.

Lets take care to not have this devolve into a witch hunt.
There are real patterns and red flags that deserves awareness, to prevent scams and exploitation. There are also a lot of assholes and wrong opinions, but that's an entirely different topic.

Sympathizing with something involves an opinion. Antisemitism is an idea/belief, serving as the basis of opinions.
My semantics are not wrong, and I also don't think semantics is what's upsetting you.

I'm not legitimizing anything here, and you missed the point.
Unhinged hatred is not allowed here, and we're largely in agreement that that ought to be the case.

My point was how I fail to see the value in collecting offensive and triggering posts. I hoped that this thread would serve as a cautionary tale about the less obvious threats. I'm much more concerned about the well-spoken deceptive ones lurking out of sight, waiting for the opportunity hurt or exploit people for real.

I'm not a victim, and not an expert. But I keep hearing about anything from Nembutal and SN scams, to strange fetishists, trying to exploit vulnerable people.
I think there's high value in collecting those stories, so we can identify and defend against those actors.

I don't think there's any doubt about how to identify or deal with someone who's openly hostile, and thus no value in raising awareness.

Maybe I completely misunderstood the purpose of the thread.
