Where have you seen the height being 200 ft? I seriously doubt they jumped from that hught would be almost impossible for 3 people to all survive a jump that high. Even if they individually each have a 1 in 10 chance of surviving, that would be only a 1 in 1000 chance of all 3 surviving.

I don't get the impression that these 3 people were attempting suicide either. They seem to have been daredevils who were trying to have a good time.

He hasn't provided a link that the jump was 200 feet though.

I haven't found any articles that cite how high their jump was, but I suspect their jump was around 100 feet. Enough to injure a person jumping into water but often not enough to kill a person. (Especially since they seem to have jumped into deep water.)

I think the odds that 3 people would all survive a jump of 200 feet into water (even deep water) would be infitesemal. Sure, one person might survive that, but 3?

The man jumping looked really small compared to the cliff.. let's say he is 6ft tall? X 30 of him would be 180ft. I think you could have stacked 30 of him from the water to where he jumped from.

Yeah so I didn't realise this would be controversial. It's a 200ft arch and they seemed to jump off the top of it. Maybe not from quite the highest point? I don't know but Lost All Hope suggests 250ft over water anyway.

Because the fact that you don't die after jumping so high but become disabled forever is very bad and vexing. Why don't you react angrily to this fact too?

Another update: one broke his leg, two have serious injuries (one of whom was rescued unconscious from the sea so presumably would have died somewhere quieter).

The Dailymail and Sun said the highest point of Durdle Door is 200 feet. They didn't say the point the people jumped from was 200 feet.

It's extremely obvious from the video that these people did not make a 200 foot jump. I'm getting the impression that a lot of posters on this thread (who keep insisting the jump was 200 feet) are the same person. Ghassane, Gravityutilizer, Overandout and Livingsucks all seem like the same person-and my guess is those people aren't the only 4 accounts that person has.

The George Washington Bridge is 200 feet high. There are about 10 jumpers off it per year. One person survived in 2009. There doesn't seem to have been another survivor until 2016. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...-jumps-George-Washington-Bridge-SURVIVES.html

That indicates the survival rate on jumps into water from 200 feet is about 3%. (2 survivors out of about 70 jumpers in a 7 year period) The odds that 3 people could jump 200 feet off Durdle Door and all survive is almost impossible.

I don't even know why I'm arguing with you and your alters at this point, but you have to be stupid to watch the videos and think it's a 200 foot jump. It's clearly a jump of about 70 feet.

And why are you trusting newspapers like the Sun and the Dailymail over the BBC? For in case you're not aware, the Sun, the Dailymail, and about 95% of newspapers in Britain are even less credible than the National Inquirer. The BBC is practically the only credible source of news in the country.

And the Dailymail article doesn't even say their jump was 200 feet. It just says the highest point of the cliff was 200 feet. If you look at pictures of Durdle Door, it's easy to tell there are higher areas of the cliff then where they jumped from.

It is something like jumping from 8th floor, that's not too much. Many people jump from such heights on a regular basis. Of course, they are well-trained, but still.

Yeah so looking again I concede the highest point (i.e. 200ft) must refer to the bit above the beach not the water. I would think that still makes the bellyflop jump over 100ft; maybe the first video was around 70ft?

I'm just getting to grips with heights and jumping myself so I do wanna get this stuff right. Sorry for any stress. I am but one person though!
