I'm a woman but I once used dating apps just to see how many matches I'd get and use that as a measurement of how ugly I am, so I guess I kinda understand you? It's a meaningless validation source though because men on apps usually have very low standards and some even just swipe right on everyone.

I'm not sure what desperation for sex has to do with my comment. You said the other people on the app are perverted, and they're not looking for romance or a true connection.

My point was that (by your own admission) you're not going on the app with the intention of finding those things either. You're doing it for validation and compliments on your appearance. So I don't see how that makes other people perverted, when they're interacting with you in the same way you are with them and giving you what you're asking for.
