Anime Recs?

I'll make myself very unpopular with a specific group of anime fans with this one but I don't really care.

Elfen Lied if you want something just for the blood and guts that you can finish within a day.

I actually liked Elfen Lied.

Yuri on ice!! It's a fun sports anime that balances heartfelt moments with silly/comedic scenes. I find most of the characters to be written very well, and I definitely recommend watching the series to the end (it's only one season btw so it's not too much to watch) I saw that someone else mentioned The Summer Hikaru Died, that one is also very good :)

I love horror but my recommendation isn't dark or gory. UMA MUSUME: PRETTY DERBY! I loved horses and ponies as a kid, I miss going to the race track and watching the races. This series reignited my love for horse racing as a sport. The uma musumes are all based on real life Japanese race horses. They got permission from the owners to make them characters and if you learn about the characters and their real life counter parts, you can tell they put SO MUCH LOVE AND CARE INTO THEM, honoring their legacies. It's amazing, I can't recommend it enough.

Here's some of my faves:
- My Happy Marriage (shoujo romance, basically a Cinderella retelling in the Meiji era with supernatural abilities, it's really sweet- the main character goes through horrible abuse but finally experiences love and happiness with the love interest)
- Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (shoujo romance, fantasy setting dealing with fantasy racism/slavery)
- Yakuza Fiance (seinen romance, yakuza princess & prince being set up by their families for a potential arranged marriage, good action and comedy)
- Heaven Official's Blessing (actually a donghua aka Chinese anime, it's an adaptation of a danmei novel series. BL romance with cool supernatural action & adventure)
- Beastars (edgy zootopia. but it's cool as fuck)
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica (needs no introduction, it's just that good)

Lord of the Mysteries, adaptation of my favorite webnovel. I don't watch anime, and it's the only one I've watched in like past 5 yrs, but I think they did a pretty good job.
