Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I was reading more criticisms of this and other forums. A common theme among moderators of suicidal forums whether those forums are specific for prevention, discussion or sharing thoughts is that the following tenets are expressed:

1) the forums do not allow for actual statements of concrete planning or decisions leading to suicide. Meaning no plans or actual commitments whether those expressions are real or simply cries for help

2) no countdowns or goodbye threads

These rules are in place either because the moderators cite unspecified research showing evidence that reading such material influences further depression or suicidal ideation in others or simply because the moderators do not wish the content to be on their forums and it is their rules.

I respect the second reasoning. If it is their rules and they prefer that content to be banned it is fine.

I dislike the references to the studies that show that there is evidence that suicidal ideation increases when individuals talk about plans or that the collective discussions convince others to commit suicide.

The book above published in 2022 goes through a very lengthy analysis of suicidal ideation across all age groups
