I just came across a story from 8-11-2018 in which a 29 year old airport employee stole a plane, did tricks with it in the sky, and crashed it on Ketron Island in the Puget Sound waterway in what looks like a remote unpopulated area- the pilot died and the consensus is that this was planned as a suicide. Not a bad way to go, though obviously almost impossible to pull off. A link to the video on youtube follows:
