An Apathetic World is Worse than an Evil One

I would love to anthropomorphize life and say "things are meant to be this way" or "it's for the best". But that's not how it works. Things may have gone really well if that one thing had gone differently. In books and movies, changing the past has a terrible butterfly effect, but that's not how reality works. There are some mistakes that one makes that probably just makes everything worse with no recompense. I can't even say the world is out to get me because it isn't. It's just a swirl of indifferent atoms swirling in the void. All difficulties and accusations targeted towards God and the universe are met with a cosmic shrug. No one is out there. And it makes me feel so alone.
