I use Zolpidem too sometimes for sleep.
I feel that if it helps you lessen survival instinct,then there'e nothing wrong with using it to do so.
I too have noticed some depression from using it sometimes and at other times I've felt good after a good night's sleep.Especially the controlled release ones.
I say,go for it if you think it'll work for you.
