Maybe this is just like an intrusive thought? There are lots of kinds of intrusive thoughts people get that don't mean they want to do the thing, which can be very distressing.I read that people who are not suicidal & absolutely do not want to attempt can have obsessive thoughts about it caused by OCD. It could be a type of OCD.
I think some people also have both (suicidal theme as an OCD topic and ideation.)
