Damn it... I cant just tough it out huh?
OK, we do not recieve calls for DT's very often; However, the training is quite extensive.
In my experience have I only seen it happen rarely.
Majority of the time is it an early-onset of DT, indicative of very minor symptoms (mild altered mental status, tremors, etc.) and can
progress into severe DT, and seizures. peak severity reaching around 3-5 days post withdrawal. At this point will you start seeing restlessness, extreme AMS, hallucinations, paranoia, hypertension, tachycardia, diaphoresis and pallor, tachypnea, dehydration and electrolyte imbalances/leading to arrhythmias and eventually cardiac arrest.
Imagine severe panic, confusion, sleep deprivation and discomfort.
Haven't had anyone die on my hands, but it's possible. Stay safe!
