Hate it, you seen how many deepfakes of children/teens are made? and the problem is, teens that make them of other teens don't face any consequences and to be honest, not even adults most of the time. The teen who's made deepfakes off, will die internally, become suicidal, lose hope and the other teen will just get a couple of weeks suspention from school.

I loathe AI. I absolutely loathe it. And don't even get me started with the art and music industry, imagine some asshat coming to you and fundamentally changing your industry over night. Fuck off. I ranted one day that I have to cope with everyone's decisions but they don't have to cope with mine, it's more true by the day. And has always been, the empathetic and traumatized are toys for the healthy. There is a rage boiling in me that keeps me warm through the darkest days and one day, if I don't end up CTB-ing, I'll make them wish that I did.

Yeah, I worry most about the huge water demand. It's freshwater, too. The kind humans need. If push comes to shove, who's going to be the priority? Us or the machines? I'm in an area with droughts. Yikes.

It will completely transform the world we know. I read an article few day ago stating that it can well lead to economic catastrophe. I read multiple sources with varying estimates that up to 50% of jobs will be obsolete very soon through ai. Think about it. Musicians, artists, Programmers, Writers,models, even lawyers. customer service is about to completely disappear. Rainbow journalism has already, most people have not yet checked that the msn front pages are almost fully ai.
Part of me wishes to be here long enough to see how that turns out. Rule of thumb always is- when it is possible to fire an employee for a much cheaper machine, it will be done on the fly.

generative ai is a huge hate for me. there is good ai but those are more like virus detections and such other important factors. but i hate generative ai, i also hate when ai is implemnted in everything, "u want to know this? herea an ai overview" like, no thanks ill just find sources... i hate how ai is also used to "write" shit when it shouldnt, it should be just be used as some protection thing, detect my viruses, clean my drives, wash my dishes, tell the time. dont "make" some "drawing", 3d-ify a photo, give "coding" 9/10 its dogshit coding, snagging info, "writing" shit and what not. it shiuld just be seen as something used for important factors not stupid small things that nobody wants.

Agree. We want fellow humans. Even before ai it was going too far.
It's quickly getting much worse.

Companies are regularly using ai for AP and ar work. Ai will approve, code, and pay invoices. These are jobs that have traditionally gone to women and they're being wiped out.
Sales too. Ai agents are working with leads to make a sale
Programming is well documented.
Customer service has typically been a great company starting point. It's being entirely eliminated.
Ai just sucks. We're told it can help detect cancers or other serious issue. But who cares if you don't have a job and insurance?
I'm depressed and negative but the world sucks and now we get this.

Honestly, it's not anything we haven't seen before. Novel technologies will often come with major privacy and security risks, especially in a "booming" market. And of course, automation will force people out of jobs. I think the drama with AI is more-or-less a consequence of capitalism and how we often don't take the time to evaluate, control, and refine technologies in favor of profit or proprietarian incentives. After all, placing a moral value on certain technological developments is complicated as ultimately they will be judged in face of how they are used in an already disheveled economy (that of which is, of course, bad).

ai exposes how mediocre a huge chunk of "creative" or "intellectual" work always was. now that machines can churn that stuff out faster a lot of people are realizing their jobs were mostly busywork and theyr pissed

are we talking about generative ai, or ai in general? i think practical ai used to assist in certain jobs like medical tech and such is great, but generative ai is a huuge problem. im mostly worried about the lack of laws around gen ai given it's such a new thing. i keep hearing about people using it in order to generate nudes of others, and then these victims can't do anything about it. i hate how widely available gen ai is because from what i've seen it's mostly used for slop content or exploitation, sexual or otherwise. it's also just impossible to avoid..

if we're going to make advanced ai models, why not make them for the tedious handiwork nobody likes? why can an ai generate a picture of me naked but not do my dishes?? i think it's stupid.

I don't like ai if it's used to create official stuff like commercials, video games, and art. It just feels lazy, like they couldn't come up with anything themselves. No one wants to put any effort in designing.

I like AI for informative purposes or for softwares to make it more personalized for you, though you have to keep in mind that it is currently not always accurate.

I do not like AI for creative purposes that are shown to the public, but I will make an exception for AI images/videos where it's more about illustrating a joke/idea/thought than it is about the visuals itself. It's just that when I see AI visuals I feel repulsed, I think it's the soulless feeling of it.

But I will tolerate the AI visuals if the joke/idea/thought is clever or useful.
