Hello,
Is anyone here familiar with the ACT test for testing nembutal? Does anyone know why the peaceful pill handbook says to multiply the weight of the precipitate/weight of the salt by 90 instead of 100?
Thanks so much!

Hi Rose,

Sodium pentobarbital vs pentobarbital
90 percent of your sodium pentobarbital is pentobarbital and 10 percent is sodium. The percipitation from the ACT test is only the pentobarbital.

I hope this helps. Good luck and let us know the result of your testing.

For a deeper understanding see below.
------------
The molecular formula of pentobarbital is C11H17N2NaO3

Weight of sodium pentobarbital molecule is 1112 + 171+ 214 + 316 + 23 = 248
Weight of your sodium pentobarbital molecule without the sodium is 225

225 / 248 is about 90 percent
23 /248 is about 10 percent

Weights of the atoms
C - 12
H - 1
N - 14
O - 16
Na - 23

There are 11 carbon (C) and 17 hydrogen (H) and 2 nitrogen (N) and 3 oxygen (O) and 1 sodium (Na) (see molecular formula above).
