But He forgives me, He forgives me.

So, basically, I told a therapist that I suspected I might have something like excessive daydreaming (I don't know what acronym to use in English, sorry). I told him and clarified that this has been with me all my life, about how everything around me triggers series and series of fantasies that I have no control over. I spend my days having lives and people that aren't mine, and I never felt normal for this. I mentioned that I researched and that maybe it had a name and was psychological. He seemed to ignore the parts where I mentioned that I couldn't stop doing it and that it affected my day to day, telling me to make only the most possible parts reality and to stop looking for diagnoses. I mean, I just wanted to find a name for something I felt was never normal for me? I just wanted to know what the fuck is happening with my head, and he didn't seem to take anything seriously.

Do you think that I may have interpreted everything in a dramatic way? That there's something to take from what he said?

My experience with therapists is that they never like things thrown at them. As in diagnosis. As in when you "try playing a psychiatrists". They act like they are sweeping the floor and I've just told them they've missed a spot. Whenever I'd come with something I thought is an issue and had an opinion on, they'd play it off as it was nothing, and some things I thought were minor and insignificant they'd make a big deal out of. I noticed that power crave with mine at least. I do agree that it's not good to "hang onto a diagnosis", like some people when they get it they want to identify with it too much and lose their authenic expression since they focus on fitting into a box. Mine wouldn't write a diagnosis until you're out of treatment, like a final document, but I ghosted them so I never got to know heh.
Even if you're right in your self-diagnosis, I'd suggest just talking about how it is for you instead of bringing out the term, you gotta let them do that imo.
Perhaps I've just had a narcissistic one, idk
